I say this every time but I long to visit Italy and I can see exactly why getting married there is so appealing. The venue for today’s wedding Borgo di Tragliata near Rome is just so gorgeous, and so authentically Italian. Siobhan, a buyer and Owen, an accountant, both from Ireland, were married on the 23rd of September 2016. The newlyweds dined outside with their guests and danced under festoon lights as the sun went down. It doesn’t get much more perfect.

“We wanted our wedding to be relaxed and natural. When we found our venue Borgo di Tragliata, we knew all the rest was taken care of and we just had to show up. Cristina and all the staff were incredible for the duration of our wedding weekend. They went above and beyond so many times for us. Words could not do them justice. The Borgo genuinely feels like a second home now and we have every intention of visiting annually for our anniversaries.”
Photography by Nastja Kovacec
The couple booked Slovenia based photographer Nastja Kovacec, who works alongside her sister Nives, to capture their wedding day. Her soft, romantic, fine art wedding photography style is absolutely perfect for the stunning venue.
“I could not recommend Nastja and her sister Nives enough. They captured so many of the wonderful moments of our wedding with almost no intrusion. Nastja listened to what we wanted and delivered wonderful photography.”I adore Siobhan’s beautiful lace topped dress which was handmade by her very talented friend Kate Parle, then altered and finished by Margaret at The Couture Studio, Dublin. Her veil and head piece were both borrowed from a friend.
“I wanted a relaxed boho vibe. I loved the movement in the skirt and the sleeves made it feel elegant and timeless.”
The bride added a pair of bow front, shimmering ASOS shoes, a pair of Soho Market earrings and a spritz of Narciso Rodriguez perfume.
Owen and his groomsmen were kitted out in blue suits by Protocol in Dublin, with the groom opting for a contrasting light grey waistcoat.
Siobhan’s very talented mum did the flowers. They went to Campo di Fiori before the wedding to pick the flowers themselves. The softness of the light, blousey flowers with lush green leaves is beautiful and oh so romantic.
“Owen and I met in college, where we were both studying Accounting & Finance. We first kissed on a group trip to Prague in March 2006 and we have been together ever since. We went on to travel a lot together, including our J1 exchange to San Diego, travelling to South East Asia and New Zealand.”
“We also lived in Melbourne, Australia for two years. In June 2015, we were on a city break to Rome, when Owen proposed to me on the balcony of our hotel room. At that stage we had been together for nine years. We were engaged for a year before we married.”
Siobhan’s bridesmaids look gorgeous in their ice blue dresses from ASOS. They also each got a pair of the embellished bow front shoes which were also worn by the bride. The little flower girl looks adorable in her white Marks and Spencer dress.
The bride walked down the aisle of the stunning church, on the arm of her father Eamon while ‘A Thousand Years’ by Cristina Perry played. What an absolutely beautiful moment captured – these are the kind of photographs we truly adore here on Love My Dress – those captured with the special people that you love.

How lovely
“After the ceremony, at the drinks and canapés reception, we were buzzing with excitement to see and speak to all our friends.”
“The sun was shining and everyone was so relaxed, it was definitely the moment we knew it was the perfect choice to get married at the Borgo.”
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“Don’t over think, don’t over plan. In the end, it’s the people and the moments that make the memories.”
“There are always little things that you might change, but ultimately, it was perfect. Even the rain at 3pm, right as I was trying to get to the church, I wouldn’t change it because it’s all part of the story now. We had the weekend of a lifetime with our family and friends and we just wish we could do it over and over again!”
Congratulations Siobhan and Owen, thank you so much for allowing us a glimpse of your beautiful wedding day. Huge thanks also to Nastja Kovacec for the wonderful images. If this wedding has got you wondering about having a wedding in Italy, do have a peek at our archives.
