A Lovely Relaxed Late Winter Wedding for a Pregnant Bride and her Beau

I love to see a pregnant bride.  Getting married with a bump isn't something all brides would embrace wholeheartedly, but those who do always, in my view, look fabulous – radiant and ready to take on the next big adventure in their lives.  Pregnant bride Hanna married her beau Matt on 22 February this year, at Elmore Court in The Cotswolds.  I love how happy and relaxed she looks – this one is for any of our readers who may be expecting and also planning a wedding – enjoy folks!

“When we saw the venue’s grand hall, we thought of a medieval banquet with the fires blazing and beer flowing. From then we tried to incorporate small hints of this theme to do justice to such a great room/house. Other than that we are not traditional people, we believe in making things work for us without the ponce of tradition.  We therefore planned the day in our own unique and relaxed manner.”

“Matt and I met at school during 6th form.  We spent the year afterwards travelling to meet each other as our lives took different paths. After that I was able to change my degree to Leeds University so that we were able to go through university together. Since then we have bought a house together, in Cirencester, which we have renovated, have a whippet called Flick, taken on two businesses in January and have a baby on the way in April.

After making an ‘advent box’ (a cardboard box wrapped up) Matt filled it with a present every day in December until on the 23rd he added the ring box.  When I opened it, Matt was sat behind me on one knee. I laughed for a few too many seconds first, but did eventually say yes.

“My dress was made by Dragon Fly Contemporary Design.  I fell in love with it even before I fell pregnant – it was really flattering to my figure and just felt right. Then I got pregnant and it wasn’t so flattering, but hey I was pregnant, cut me some slack."

"My shoes were by Very.  Not many people get to see your shoes under a long dress I guess, but these looked great and were cheap!"

"We hired Naomi of Gloucester Florist.  We were trying to get the banquet theme with the flowers, and being winter lots of fresh flowers would have to be flown in. We always wanted runners as when we were looking at banqueting pictures they seemed to be a common theme. The results were perfect!"

“Our photographer was Eve Dunlop.  We loved Eve’s photography because she seemed to capture the light and natural beauty of a scene. We also liked the natural look of the photos rather than the traditional staged, look down the barrel of the camera shots, which you have to have some off but not too many!

Eve is obviously very passionate about her photography and her abilities shine through in the photos. She is not someone who hides behind fancy technology, but someone with actual ability.”

"We loved Elmore Court from the first time we saw it, even though it was still under a major renovation. It was the ideal mix of rustic and old fashioned, with total grandeur in a perfect setting.”

"After visiting a few local jewellers in Cirencester we came across John Tichcombe, and together we designed something that would mirror the engagement ring and really complement it.  We saw Matt’s ring in New Zealand, (where we went a few days after getting engaged). We both loved the slightly dull finish of the titanium, and the inlay of wood grain made it really different."

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

“I would say don’t listen to what everyone else thinks you should do, and do what ‘you’ want in the way you want! Make it your day, so you can relax and feel comfortable on your special day.

I think if we could have had more time it would have been great. We chose to start our wedding at 1pm so it wouldn’t be too long before everyone could be fed. However, I think it would have been good to start at 12 so we would have had a bit more time before we sat down for food.”

  1. that dress is perfect for her and how lovely that the child can look back and say “I was part of that!” Also kinda romantic to be married with a bump. Congrats to them, from all of us at Flo & Percy

  2. Aww, it is way too emotional and romantic to get married while
being pregnant. The white dress looks very beautiful and the simple wedding jewelry renders a sophisticated look. The yellow flowers are a contrast and they add charm to the bride.

  3. Thanks for featuring this lovely wedding, it was a pleasure to shoot it . My clients welcomed a baby girl into the world not long after!
