Blush by Hayley Paige for an Elegant Yellow and White Wedding at Coworth Park

With two of my three New Year’s resolutions already broken (hello leftover Christmas toblerone!) and a withered fir tree glowering in the corner of my living room, I have decided that I am not a fan of the first week of January. How are you coping in the post-Christmas gloom?! I hope you are heeding Annabel’s advice to be kind to yourself but, if not, it’s a bit of luck that I have a beautiful wedding to share with you this morning. This will definitely lift those January blues!

Navneeta and David met at university but re-connected through Facebook, three years after graduating. Seven years later, David got down on one knee at the ‘lake of love’ (which sounds incredibly romantic) in Bruges. Fast forward a year to October 2014 and the couple were wed at Coworth Park, Ascot.  Their photographs were taken by the award-winning Ross Harvey – I think you’ll agree how beautifully they capture the essence of this relaxed glamour style of day.

“I wouldn’t say we had a particular muse as such as we really wanted our day to reflect ‘us’, with little personal touches here and there. We chose Yellow and White for our colour scheme. Inspiration for our colours came from the engagement ring David had had designed- an oval yellow diamond surrounded by diamonds. Yellow is such an emotive happy colour that it just made perfect sense to have pops of it to add a touch of celebration and fun on our wedding day.”

Doesn’t the bride look so effortlessly beautiful? Having tried on several dresses that didn’t quite fit the bill, Navneeta eventually spied her dress in a wedding magazine.

“There are only two Bridal stockists in the UK for Blush by Hayley Paige and Les Trois Soeurs made every effort in tracking it down so that I could try it on! When I did try it on, luckily I felt the same way about it and knew it was the dress I could see myself walking down the aisle in.

My dress was just so incredibly perfect for me! I felt that my wedding dress really had to embody my personality and my spirit. My dress ended up being from a designer that has such passion for elegance but also girlish romantic charm.”

The girls look gorgeous in their White Runway bridesmaids dresses. The white and yellow colour scheme was also brought into the elegant flower arrangements by Steph of Fairynuff Flowers.

“I was keen to have Jasmine in my flower bouquet which is quite a traditional Indian theme. The smell was divine! These were complemented with clean and fresh white hydrangeas, spray roses, white dendrobium orchids, phalaenopsis orchids with cheery yellow centres and white double tulips with no foliage, all hand tied with white lace and pearl pins.

I had my grandmother’s gold ‘Om’ beads attached to my bouquet. The Indian Om symbol is a Hindu sacred sound normally used when meditating. It mystically embodies the ‘essence’ of the entire universe. It gave me a feeling of peace and calm and it was just so nice to have something of hers so close with me on my wedding day.”

“The beautiful Ana Milena Ospina did my makeup – what a treat she is! A Columbian born beauty herself she knew perfectly how to work with honey coloured skin tones.

I knew very early on that I wanted Hollywood waves with my hair down on my Wedding day. Sev from Hepburn Collection is a master at all things hair and I was so pleased with the results.”

These exquisite photos were taken by Ross Harvey.  We adore this kind of crisp, clean image on Love My Dress – simply beautiful images that will stand the test of time and look as wonderful in years to come as they do now.

“I don’t think any words can do Ross justice! He is a very talented individual but not only that, he has a wonderful kind soul. What he captures in his pictures speaks louder than any words. David and I both love his work and both felt that his style would capture the best feelings and emotions on our special day.”

Navneeta and David knew immediately that  Coworth Park was the venue for them, and booked it on the day they visited!

“We arrived at Coworth Park and I had butterflies on the drive alongside the pretty meadow leading up to the main house entrance!! Staff from the door, reception, lobby were so welcoming and we felt the place had such a warm heart.

The meadow and estate gardens are just too pretty! The Meadow lasts from Spring to the end of Autumn and is re-seeded every year with the colours changing every few weeks! We knew there would be plenty of great spots to take some lovely pictures on our special day.

I was lucky enough to get ready at one of the lovely cottages at the Coworth Park itself. This made for a super relaxing and fun morning getting ready with my bridal party.”

Navneeta’s perfume for the day was Chanel No. 19 Poudre. She accessorized with Dolce & Gabbana crystal-embellished lace slingback pumps.

“The most pretty yellow lace kitten heels that I could wear all day. They were really unique and looked like Cinderella shoes!”

Navneeta was lucky enough to travel to the ceremony ‘vintage style’ in her father’s Rolls Royce.

“My very favourite part was having my dad walk me down the aisle and then that moment when I saw David. He looked gorgeous! When we took our vows in front of all of our loved ones was so important. I meant every word and could feel that he did too. Just the most special moments ever!”

 “On our way out of the ceremony they played the Disney song ‘under the sea’ from The Little Mermaid- it was such a fun way to end the ceremony! This also meant a lot to me as my very lovely friends had taken me to Paris for my surprise hen party!”

“David and I really wanted our much loved dog Laila to be with us on our Wedding Day too. She is now 3 and half years old and we have had her since she was a little baby of 8 weeks.  Our florist made a special collar with wired white spray roses and phalaenopsis orchids for her. We also had Alfie, one of the beautiful Coworth park horses made up with phalaenopsis orchids, he loved it and looked very handsome! I think Laila and Alfie loved there time with us on the day!”

This wedding boasted a dessert table as well as two wedding cakes – a fruit cake made by Navneeta, her mother and her mother-in-law, and a cheese wedding cake.

“Tony of Teddington Cheese kindly opened up especially for us on a Sunday and we went through a plethora of cheeses to find our favourites to layer up. Tony was very knowledgeable and was very aware that everyone has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to cheese!”

“The food at Coworth Park is incredible. David and I are real ‘foodies’ and it was incredibly important to us to have super tasty food for our Wedding Breakfast. The seasonal menu the chefs had prepared for October was extensive and it was really hard to choose!”

“Beach from Sliding Vinyl. His list of music was really good and was sure to get the party started! Within our RSVP cards, in our Invitation pack, we had asked our guests to suggest any songs that they would like to hear and they came up with some really great ones. Beach was very willing to take on all of those on the list and even some of the obscure/odd ones!”

Words of Wedded Wisdom

“The reality is that everyone is different so find a theme that YOU love and stick with it! We had some very personal touches that were important to both of us. I respected and trusted every one of my suppliers- each and every person who contributed to our day made it the most perfect day of our lives. Do not compromise on talent and skill when it comes to your suppliers- you have to have 100% confidence in them.  Also ask your suppliers who they would recommend!”

“Also- make sure you have breakfast and eat the lovely food you chose for your Wedding Breakfast! My amazing bridesmaids made sure I ate breakfast and ordered in-room dining for lunch!”
