A Nature Inspired Wedding with a Limor Rosen Dress and Bridesmaids in Pastel Gowns

Buckle up lovelies – I’m about to whisk you away to the pretty Surrey countryside for an utterly divine summer wedding, with such sweet images captured by Helen Cawte Photography. Fiona and Matt, who both work in marketing, married on the 30th of July 2016 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, then held their reception at Harewood Home Farm in Bletchingley, Surrey, a stunning location close to their home and nestled amongst the beautiful English countryside. Nature inspired their day, as well as their fondness for a mismatched look.

Fiona chose the gorgeous ‘Lee-or’ design by Limor Rosen from Luella’s Bridal – a beautiful bridal boutique that we recommend most highly through our wedding directory, Little Book For Brides. And she had her veil made to compliment her dress.

“I wanted a long veil that was simple, so as not to distract from the beautiful detail and embellishment of the dress. I had this made at Luella’s and you can pick the style, colour and length that you prefer.”

“I fell in love in Petersham Nurseries, so wanted to take some inspiration from their designs with lots of plants, foliage and an explosion of colour. We also like a more natural and non-matching look, hence mismatched bridesmaids dresses and lots of variation and colour.”“I bought my shoes online. I love copper and used this elsewhere in the decoration at the venue. I also love fresh flowers, so had a beautiful hairpiece created. My perfume was by Jo Malone, the scent I always wear, and my necklace and earrings were from Swarovski.”

“Our hair and makeup artist, Farida Ghwedar, was a joy to have around on the morning of the wedding and is amazingly talented and incredibly humble.”

“She creates a natural look, which worked so well for not just myself but all the bridesmaids.”

The bridesmaids donned gowns from Ralph Lauren and Ghost London, as Fiona was keen for soft colours that complimented each maid, as well as each other, and something they felt comfortable in and would want to keep. They wore their own shoes, fresh flowers in their hair, and were gifted with the loveliest piece of jewellery from the bride.

“I bought each bridesmaid a solid silver necklace as a gift from Cabbage White England. Each necklace is hand-cast from real shells found on the beach in Cornwall – this sterling silver shell necklace is a delicate delight.”

“Matt and I met at a cocktail bar in London. We got engaged after seven years in a beautiful tree house in the New Forest. We were engaged a year before the wedding.”

The couple married in a Catholic church – Sacred Heart of Jesus – as this was Fiona’s family background growing up. Members of the wedding party travelled to the church in a groovy car from Paladins Classic Car Hire. And the beautiful bride was accompanied by her dad for the aisle walk.

Decked out in smart Hugo Boss attire, Matt was every bit the handsome groom. His groomsmen wore stylish suits hired from Moss Bros.

The sweet and special moments between Matt and Fiona were beautifully captured by Helen Cawte Photography, who greatly impressed the couple with her style.

“Helen is very relaxed and flexible and has an amazing way of capturing natural moments and reactions. She has incredible people skills and knows exactly when to strike into action. Subtle and an amazing eye, what else could you ask for?!”

Guests relaxed in a flower-filled marquee from Four Seasons Marquees at wooden trestle tables. I adore the floral displays, which were by Fiona’s mum’s friend Susan from ‘Flowers by Susan’.

“We wanted seasonal natural flowers with flowing greenery. For the table flowers I sprayed tin cans in copper and gold, after eating a lot of baked beans! A friend created the ladders and we decorated these with dried hops from the brewery to create a centrepiece in the room.”

The cuisine, including tempting canapés, was by Mari Hudson Events Catering. The wedding cake was lovingly handmade by a family member – isn’t this a clever way to display the cake and tasty treats?

“Matt’s sister made the cake after several months of practice – her hard work paid off!”

Atlantic Soul Orchestra played funky tunes into the night – and the newlyweds chose David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ as their song for the first dance.

“We wanted something upbeat to kick off the evening and also pay a tribute to Bowie.

It’s hard to have a favourite bit. For us, every minute was special and we wish we could do it all again.”

Words of Wedded Wisdom

“Enjoy every moment. Don’t be scared to ask friends and family to help with the details. It will make the day even more special for all involved. Make sure you have a spreadsheet with all the details and specifics to check off with each other; it will avoid any panic about things being missed off. The most important thing for us was creating a good atmosphere. If you are having a fab day and enjoying yourself you’ll notice it’s contagious.”

It really is so true – smiles and happiness is totally contagious! Thank you so much to Fiona and Matt for allowing us a sneak peak into your most delightful day and also to Helen for sharing these very heartfelt images. There’s nothing better than a marquee wedding on a summer’s day and the relaxed vibe was perfectly captured.
