Lovely readers, I cannot tell you how much I adore today’s absolutely stunning wedding. As you can image, I see a fair number of wedding pictures and they’re all beautiful and special, but I can’t stop gazing at these- the scenery is utterly incredible, the emotion is so raw and beautiful and the bride’s outfit is quite spectacular.
Meet Kelsey, a children’s author and illustrator and Daniel, an industrial designer, who married on the 14th of October 2016 on the beautiful Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway in a very small but utterly perfect celebration.
“We wanted a very simple elopement, surrounded by nature. My family is Norwegian so we wanted to honour my heritage while having an adventure in the Arctic. Daniel and I love adventure, so we wanted our wedding to be our biggest adventure yet.”

Today’s photography comes to us from the very talented lens of Nordica Photography, who have really produced the most amazing set of photographs- I can’t believe the light and detail- absolutely sublime.
Just when I think this wedding can’t get any more perfect, Kelsey tells us that she picked her bouquet flowers herself the day before the wedding on a hike through the mountains.
“We were introduced by two of our best friends and Daniel proposed a year and a half later while we were hiking in the German alps, overlooking Schloss Neuschwanstein. We were engaged for ten months.”
Kelsey wore a beautiful Provonias lace gown, purchased from The Lily Rose, Charlotte, NC. I adore the intricate buttoned back and full train, not to mention her fabulous accessorising.
“My jewellery came from my Grandmother, so I opted for a vintage wrap and lace dress to match. The dress was simple but elegant, timeless, and fit like a glove.”
For accessories Kelsey wore a fabulous selection of jewellery. Her necklace and amazing Norwegian style brooch were heirlooms from her Grandmother, while her earrings came from Open House Imports.

In her hair she wore an incredibly beautiful custom comb, called Enchanted Atheist, by Liv Hart. I absolutely adore this- so intricate and perfect for the surroundings.
Kelsey’s fabulous lace edged veil was also by Provonias at The Lily Rose, Charlotte, NC and adds perfectly to her vintage look. On her feet she wore pumps by Ugg Australia (Nordstrom rack) while for perfume she chose Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, a classic, feminine and elegant rose scent.
The couple said their vows on an island in the middle of a fjord, watched only by their closest family and the mountains. They kept their vows and the ceremony words simple, but their emotion is plain to see, which is lovely. Daniel’s ring came from Windsor Jewelers, New York, while Kelsey’s was from Tiffany & Co. Both were simple, elegant and minimalist designs.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“Live fully in the joy in the moment. Enjoy everything and don’t stress about the details and the ‘fluff’- they’re not important in the grand scheme of things.”
“You will remember the moments with your spouse and your family, the rest is icing on the cake.”
I am utterly blown away by the beauty of this location and the romance of the elopement- I would really love to do something similar for a vow renewal or a twenty year celebration- I’m feeling inspired! If nothing else I must add the Lofoten Islands to my travel list- it looks like an utterly amazing place. Are you tempted by an elopement yourself? Take a peek here to see that small weddings are certainly not second class.
Much love,
