One of aspects of running my business that I appreciate and love the most, is that it provides me with a brilliant opportunity to support other women in business.
Years ago, had you talked to me about ‘feminism’, I’d have been frustrated at the choice of word that had been adopted to represent such an important movement. Today, let’s just say, my views have developed and refined somewhat, and I proudly call myself a feminist and very much love to use my blog pages for the good of supporting women and showcasing some of the incredible, creative, talented, hard working female talent that makes up our wedding industry today.
Which is why I was thrilled when photographer Tara Florence got in touch to share these images that she captured on location in the stunning coastal resort and popular wedding destination of Puglia, Italy. They include gowns by our Little Book directory member, Eliza Jane Howell.
“I had been dreaming of shooting a bridal editorial in Italy for so long so, after assembling my all female, all British team and with the help of wedding planner extraordinaire, Tracey from Lusso Events, we brought this shoot in Puglia, Italy to life.”

“I really wanted these images to have a more editorial, fun feel as opposed to the ‘fake wedding’ that we see so often nowadays [not on Love My Dress, I hasten to add!] so the brief was to portray something super relaxed and to have lots of fun on the way.”
“We were lucky enough to stay at a beautiful villa in the countryside hosted by the lovely Anna from Trulli e Dimore (which is another fab spot for a destination wedding!).”“We used exclusively British designers from Eliza Jane Howell, Mooshki and Charlie Brear to highlight the casual elopement style of a British bride getting married abroad. Daisy from Fairytale Wedding chose relaxed dresses and two pieces teamed with accessories by Miss Clemmie.”
“One exception to the all girl rule was the florist with the reputation as the best in the region, the lovely Michele Zaurino, worked on the florals – he’s a true artist and also makes THE best pasta!”

“I love the Italian nonnas that joined us in the back streets of Alberobello among the truli, just by coincidence their red jumpers matched the red of the car exactly. Makeup up Artist, Joanne Tromans, had also, coincidently, worked in a rock-chick red lip – some things are just destined! Another of my favourites is Ellie rocking a beautiful, billowing Charlie Brear gown by the sea of Polignano a Mare.”
“We had so much fun shooting this and I hope that’s conveyed in the images. If any brides are thinking of Southern Italy for a destination wedding, Puglia is a perfect choice. It’s traditonal, fun and a little less obvious than the Amalfi Coast and of course, I’d be happy to come along and shoot it for you…”
