Bohemian outdoor spring wedding editorial

For those of you planning a Spring wedding with lovely, free spirited boho vibes and a lots of pretty pastel hues – this piece is for you.

We’re thrilled to see designs from the wonderful Indiebride London feature in this shoot. Designer Miina creates the coolest, ethically and sustainably made dresses, veils and accessories for modern brides.

We’re passing over without delay to photographer Nikki of Nikki’s Moments Photography & Film to explain more about these lovely images, created to inspire your own wedding.

“The inspiration for this shoot really came from a personal love for outdoor relaxed ‘do as you want’ style weddings…the ones where the couple seek to create their own venue..with no time restraints and no set rules! With the laws of outdoor weddings looking to change in the near future, we wanted to inspire a new generation of weddings!”

“Our setting for the shoot was Vanstone Park, a garden centre in Hertfordshire which is home to Country Tipis. A perfect setting for those who want to build their own wedding. Together with Country Tipis, we collaborated with the amazing Alice from Fleur de Lace who has an incredible eye for detail and styling. We looked at elements to create a unique boho style touch.”

“Thanks to old cupid, arrows can be linked to love and Alice wanted to demonstrate that arrows point to a happy future for a couple. In honour of the tradition of tying cans to the back of the couple’s car as they depart, Alice created a boho spin on this, with ribbons and a foliaged arrow.”

“For our florals we turned to Ellice at Willow & Blossom Floral Design who created a bohemian vibe with designs that included foliage, dahlias, garden roses, ammi, scabiosa, delphiniums and lots of on trend pampas grass! For the colour scheme we chose a palette of pastel tones with a pop of berry”.

“To demonstrate the relaxed, laid back, boho wedding, we used a real couple with a real connection and I think you can really see how comfortable they are through the lens. Our bride wore a combination from Minna’s Collection of Anjelica and Cecile, both of which complimented the style of the shoot.”

“We opted for some statement jewellery by Detail London to add those finishing touches. For our groom, we ditched the traditional suit and styled him simply in chinos with a tweed waistcoat by Vintage Suit Hire.”

“For make up we chose a relaxed, soft boho look with a modern edge. Our amazing MUA Katie, opted for a subtle rose gold to bring out the models blue eye colour with lots of individual lashes for definition. A rose nude creme colour kept the lips from being too structured.”

“Katie’s top tip to recreate the look is to use Mac ‘creme cup’ lipstick and a rose creme blush for a boho hue of colour. For hair, Meg our hairdresser went for a loose relaxed braided style with finishing touches of delicate roses and a Suki veil by Minna.”
