Emily and Tim’s classy, modern and elegant city wedding, took place on 15th July 2023 in London.
The couple exchanged vows with a ceremony at St Mary-le-Bow Church on Cheapside, then celebrated with friends and family at Gordon Ramsay’s popular Bread Street Kitchen & Bar at St Paul’s.
These gorgeous, contemporary images were captured by our friend and recommended supplier, Georgina Harrison, who I cannot recommend more highly to any couple wanting to book a lovely, talented wedding photographer (drop Georgina an enquiry via her website today).
Emily wore a minimalist modern gown by Ukranian designer, Eva Lendel, which featured an oversized bow a the back, and chose to carry a delightfully romantic bouquet of soft pastel roses and peonies.
The Dress
My dress was by Eva Lendel and I discovered it at Love Bridal in Crystal Palace, London.
I always knew I wanted a dress that was simple, fitted and elegant without any lace or embellishment. It was the second dress I tried on and the thing I loved the most was the bow detail on the back.
I also loved that I could remove the skirt for the reception but still keep the bow.
I also wore a veil that I brought within Love Bridal too.
My perfume was Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel – I’ve always worn it and it just felt right to wear that on my wedding day too.
I wore a ring that belonged to my grandma which is very special to me, so it was important that I wore that on the day. I also wore the earrings my mum wore on her wedding day which felt special too!
My makeup artist was Lydia Fowler and my hair stylist was Harry Johnson Root Hair & Beauty.
Flowers
Our florist was Kasia from Gloria Studio. Kasia was brilliant. We admittedly knew nothing about flowers and so left most of it down to her and we were delighted with the result. She dressed the restaurant perfectly and our bouquets were beautiful and just what we didn’t know we wanted.
Kasia very quickly understood the vibe of our wedding and ensured everything was perfectly matched to that.
Bridesmaids
We asked our bridesmaids to choose their own dress as long as it was pink. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and love their dress, which is hard when trying to find one style that suits everyone!
Given that we were doing away with some traditions anyway, we didn’t feel important for them to match, but asked them to keep to a pink dress to tie them all together.
The girls all wore their own shoes and I bought them pearl handbags from ASOS.
Flower Girl dresses were from Angel & Rocket.
The Ceremony
It was important for us to be married in a Church and we knew we wanted our reception in a restaurant.
My dad walked me down the aisle to the sound of the organise playing Pachelbel, Canon in D Major.
We had two readings, the first Colossians 3:12-17 read by my Grandpa. The second reading was The Bridge Across Forever by Richard Bach.
Tim found this and we just loved how uplifting it was. It was read by our friend Tony.
Our rings were from 77 Diamonds. This is where Tim bought my engagement ring so it made sense to go back to them.

Photography
Our photographer was Georgina Harrison. She was absolutely incredible and I’ve already recommended her to others! We knew we wanted a photographer who could capture the day as it happened and ensure we didn’t spend too much time on formal photos (we don’t love photos so Georgina had a job on her hands!).
We had a call before the wedding to run through a list of photos we knew we did want and to talk about timings and how Georgina would approach the day.
On the day itself, Georgina was just brilliant and a pleasure to have with us. She kept us all on track when we were getting ready which was very much appreciated and in general it was just so lovely to have her as part of our day. She felt like a friend rather than our photographer and we were so grateful for that.
Georgina and Sam worked so incredibly hard on the day and after the wedding, Georgina turned the photos round so quickly. We honestly couldn’t recommend her enough.

The Reception
We knew we didn’t want what might be seen as a traditional wedding venue and really wanted something a bit less formal and a true reflection of us.
We love going out for dinner and always said how happy it would make us on our wedding day to be able go out for dinner and look around and see a restaurant filled with all the people we love.
Bread Street Kitchen & Bar at St Paul’s just felt the perfect choice. An iconic location, perfect for photos, a beautiful, modern restaurant with plenty of space for dancing and of course incredible food.
As we had our reception in a restaurant, we didn’t need a catering company but the food at Bread Street Kitchen was incredible and better than we could have imagined.
We had canapes for the drinks reception and then were able to work with the chef to give our guests a choice for their starter, main & dessert. We then had pizza in the evening!
Inky Stationery did everything including digital save the dates, invitations, table plans, order of service and thank you cards. We were so pleased with the result and how easy they were to communicate with on any changes throughout.
Stephanie Jane Oliver sang & played guitar during our drinks reception. We had seen other events Steph had done and knew her vibe was contemporary RnB, which was perfect for us!
We chose a Lola’s wedding cake with pearl detail. The cake was delicious, we had lots of compliments!
Favourite Moments
Our DJ was Josh, who we booked through James Hudson at Revolver Sounds and he really kept the dancefloor going all night.
It’s so hard to pick a favourite part of the day but there was one moment that stuck out, when the wonderful team at Bread Street Kitchen took us to one side with a glass of champagne so that we could just have a moment to take everything in together. That felt really special and isn’t something we’d have thought to do ourselves.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Really think about what you both want from the day rather than get too worried about traditions or what people might expect. We both felt that there were a lot of traditions associated with a wedding that, whilst lovely, weren’t reflective of us.
We wanted everyone involved in our day to be relaxed and so we made the decision quite early on not to have speeches and we didn’t have a first dance. It made our day and the lead up so relaxed and we have no regrets!
