This exquisite wedding editorial at Dundas Castle, in Edinburgh. Photographers Willow & Wilde were supported by an exceptional team of suppliers, the creative team set out to produce an inspiring collection of images.
Their goal was to captivate modern couples looking to plan an intimate and romantic wedding in a breathtaking historical estate.
The editorial narrative beautifully combines the team’s deep love for Scotland’s land and traditions with the majestic beauty of Dundas Castle. This stunning location provided the perfect backdrop for their artistic vision to come to life. We hope you love these beautiful images images as much as we do – our love and thanks to Willow & Wilde. Enjoy!
The venue was Dundas Castle in Edinburgh. This magnificent, historical setting has a 15th Century ‘Auld Keep’ that is both romantic and mesmerising, with stunning textured stone walls steeped in stories from centuries gone by.
Many couples exchange vows in the Auld Keep – it’s an incredible reminder of how the castle would have looked prior to the addition of the more modern Dundas Castle to the estate, in the early 19th century.
We set out to entwine the colour palettes and textures of the land and sea, to bring a soft and feminine touch that blended the essence of the interior and exterior of the beautiful Dundas Castle.
Our aim through this editorial, was to allure and to attract modern couples who seek an intimate and contemporary wedding celebration within the ever-changing natural beauty of the Dundas Estate in Scotland.
We went for stripped back neutral tones, with soft pops of blue and pastel hues. Flowers were soft and delicate and brought a sense of ‘light and airy’ in contrast to the strength of the wall panelling and grandeur of the traditional Scottish rooms.
The use of seasonal spring florals amidst a sea of tall, tapered and low candles, created romance and warmth. The stationery was modern, simple and timeless in it’s design – with accents of gold.
Our model wore Berta Bridal gowns from the ‘Maggiore’ collection. These exquisite gowns created sublime, silk silhouettes that caught the light beautifully. An abundance of luxurious silk fabric provide effortless movement and flow.
For our evening look, our model wore another Berta gown in delicate lace. This sensational gown is covered in the tiniest, most delicate pearls which create incredible impact.
