About the Venue
Low Hall The Lakes is a secluded and intimate Lake District wedding venue. Set within beautiful and oh so charming grounds, you’ll find the grand and characterful Lovable Old Barn, the 17th century fairytale farmhouse, an enchanting woodland, a babbling brook and colourful gardens.
A hidden and happy little world to make your own, where you can create your own day and make it all yours. Douse it in all the gorgeous things and people you love and have it as colourful or as relaxed as yourselves.
A Lake District Wedding Venue
Whether you want a big old party in the Lovable Old Barn or an intimate affair inside Low Hall farmhouse, from a Lake District Elopement for just you two to 110 of your besties, find views to make your heart dance, history, original quirks and colourful gardens. All with the most charming character throughout with a laid back, welcoming vibe to suit. Say your ‘I dos’ overlooking Lakeland fells or lead your guests into the magical woodland for a ceremony unlike any other or take to the Lovable Old Barn for a grand, warming ceremony with oodles of character, which you can go all out with your styling or keep it just as lovely as it is.
With six beautiful ensuite bedrooms within the farmhouse, you’ll have exclusive use for two nights, with the option to extend your stay (and party). A home-cooked breakfast using fresh local ingredients will greet you all both mornings too.
Francesca and Ben are the couple behind the wonderfulness and although a DIY venue, they include lots of essentials (tables, chairs, fairy and festoon lighting, glassware etc) and there is help from day dot, right through till the end of the big day itself. They also have a whole host of awesome suppliers to share.
Handy for Keswick, Cockermouth and the dramatic Northern Lakes of Buttermere, Crummock, Loweswater & Ennerdale, there’s all sorts of extra accommodation on the doorstep as well as hiking, open water swimming, endless adventures and utter beauty.

What's included?
-Exclusive use of the Lovable Old Barn, set over two floors packed full of charm and character.
-A two night stay for 12 in our farmhouse, which includes top notch brekkies.

Where can we have our ceremony?
Choose between; – A magical woodland, complete with babbling brook, bird song and amazing dappled light – plus it’s only a welly wang from the barn.
– The beautiful garden, nestled between the farmhouse and the pond with some of the Lakes finest hills in the background.
– The wonderful Lovable Old Barn, underneath the grand old beams or downstairs in the Cow House with as many or as little decs as you like.
– For elopements and micro mega kinda days, you can also get hitched in the charming and oh so handsome and characterful library, within the farmhouse, in front of the roaring fire by candlelight.
What's the deal with drink?
You can bring two beverages per person, free of corkage. We also do drinks packages, from £22.50 for 2025. This essentially includes five drinks per person and is a super mix of brilliant wine, beer and fizz. We can also do your fave cocktail, a barrow of beer, a gin bar or a rum bar or…. you get the gist. We keep our bar prices in line with local pubs and we’re up North remember, so that ain’t too bad. We have two bars (taking cash or card) run by our fab team.
What accommodation do you have?
We include a two night stay in our glorious 17th Century farmhouse, which can sleep up to 12 in six ensuite bedrooms. This includes two extra luxurious suites, lots of original quirks and character, as well as modern and timeless luxuries, snazzy wallpapers, art and interiors and a mighty fine brekky to set you all up both mornings. We also have space for a handful of tents for the brave. For all of your other guests, there is an abundance of beautiful self catered cottages, hotels and B&Bs all within easy reach, some within walking distance.
How many guests can you host?
From elopements for two, to big ol’ parties of up to 130. We can seat 110 guests for your ceremony and for your meal on round tables and up to 102 on trestle tables.
Do you do elopements?
We do indeed and we have two gorgeous Lake District Elopement Packages;
Our Little Big Day Elopements, a beautiful exclusive two night stay where we include all of your main suppliers, photographer, videographer, catering, flowers, cake and styling, using some of the best suppliers in the biz. All you need to do is find your rings, book your registrar and find something extra fabulous to wear. It really is something of wedding day dreams and truly special.
Our Whirlwind Elopements, which is four gorgeous hours of just you two in the grounds and farmhouse, making wedding day memories, with plenty of bubbly.
Do you cater for Micro Weddings?
We certainly do. We offer a midweek package for up to 30 guests at a reduce price, where you have the option to stay one night or two.
