Good afternoon folks, now first things first, are you aware that on Monday, we launched a competition to win a £2,500 wedding dress from London based Naomi Neoh? This is an incredible and legitimate chance to win one of Naomi’s signature, romantic bridal gowns, of your own choice. If you’ve not entered yet, bookmark this link and do so very soon!

As always, it is a huge pleasure to be able to share the work of a creative team, some of the talented members of which come highly recommended via our Little Book For Brides, including the wonderful Joanne Fleming,

These images were sent in by Calligrapher Claire Gould of By Moon & Tide, whose work has previously graced our pages.

“There are so many dreamy destinations for weddings in the UK, and I love how inspiring our landscapes can be. I wanted to use the Lake District as the setting for a breathtaking shoot, showcasing its beautiful wilderness and tranquility. The Lakes are my home; the coastline of Cumbria is a little-explored paradise, while the mountains provide a dramatic backdrop for Lake District brides and grooms.”

The beaches here are vast, with golden sands and only the cries of gulls to break the silence. The shoreline inspired our first look with the simplest of bridal separates all in delicious silk by Cornish dressmaker Ailsa Munro. Our bride Jade adored the movement of Ailsa’s delicate cropped top, skirt and trousers as she skipped across the sands.”“Photographer Sheryl of Oobaloos Photography travelled from Gloucestershire to discover my favourite lakeland locations. Her dramatic style and creativity were so perfect for our wild spirited shoot, and I love the way she’s captured both landscapes and tiny details in such intuitively beautiful images.”

“We styled a simple sweetheart table with palest blue-dyed muslin and I created a stationery suite of midnight blue torn papers reminiscent of waves. Gold calligraphy lettering added elegance to the tablescape alongside timeless glassware and chic candelabras from Narrative Hire. Delicate tendrils of ferns for the table came from Brackens of Bowness, who designed the loveliest bouquet for our beach bride – and a second, dramatic and wild bouquet for a trip to the mountains!”

“Stefanie Grisdale is a wonderful Lake District make up artist, and joined us for the day to turn Jade into a beautiful beach bride. Her plaited updo was perfect for the morning on the beach, and worked so wonderfully with accessories by Vintage Button Bridal Designs.”

“One of the things I love most of all about the Lake District is our uniquely varied landscape. Just a short distance from the shores you’ll find remote forests and inspiring fellsides towering above glassy lakes. We were thrilled to have a bespoke dress by lovely Joanne Fleming for our mountainside bridal shoot. Joanne’s creations are intricate, heart-stoppingly beautiful, and the midnight blue layer of lace is just enchanting.”

“The Lake District mountains are an environment full of contrasts; from heavenly tranquil lakes to imposing rock faces and soaring birds of prey – every bit of this place takes my breath away. We wanted to use those contrasts: the exquisite designer dress against a backdrop of rock and never-ending mountainsides; and natural, organic calligraphy on the softest handcrafted papers set against antique crates and timeless ceramics for a mountain picnic.”

“The focus of this shoot is on landscapes and nature, with my calligraphy playing a key part in the styling touches. I’m in my element on the beach and on the Cumbrian fells, so it was easy to design calligraphy pieces inspired by both. There’s nowhere in England so captivating or romantic – I adore this place and the potential it has for magical elopements and intimate weddings.”
