When it comes to bridal editorials, more often than not, the bride is depicted through soft, whimsical, romantic style imagery. Far less, is the bride portrayed as fierce (in the totally self confident sense), bold and fearless.
It was an absolute breath of fresh air to have received these glorious images recently, from wedding stylist and planner, Kimberley of The Wedding Avenue. I adored them as soon as I saw them; they are sensuous and seductive and portray the kind of modern, self assured bride of our time – a woman happy to embrace her body confidence and sexuality – yes, even on her wedding day. It’s fantastic to see wedding suppliers working together to create more daring imagery like this to inspire the modern bride and I’m thrilled that this creative team asked Love My Dress to share their work. Thank you gang!

“Set in the modern-luxe interior of Nobu, Berkeley Street this shoot styled, captured by Rebecca Goddard Photography brings together everything I love about bridal fashion and contemporary wedding style. As a frustrated fashionista myself, I wanted to showcase the daring new luxe trend; a dark, moody vibe that oozes cool.”

The bridal fashion is from the one and only Halfpenny London, who is already causing a stir following the launch of her divine The Air That We Breath collection – launched in New York last week.
“Dresses from British Designer Halfpenny London’s new The Black Edit Collection were the obvious choice. A huge fan of layering and texture, I paired items from her latest collection to create a range of trend-led looks – from a dramatic oversized black satin skirt to structured organza pleats, sexy sheer skirts, a touch of leather and even a trend-setting bridal blazer.”
“Emma Soulsby Flowers combined elegant white roses and lashings of foliage with the deepest, most romantic shades of red, including an incredible stair runner and cascading bouquet finished with jet black ribbons.”
“It was a conscious decision to step away from classic, elegant wedding furniture to something more edgy, which I found at Great Hire. Gold wire chairs and tables contrast against black glass creating an alternative contemporary look that’s perfect for this sleek and chic city vibe.”
“Design-led stationer Paperknots created a monochromatic suite incorporating gold leaf and tassels – a key trend for 2019 couples – as well as dramatic hanging escort card display, a detail echoed in the place settings to pull the entire scheme together.”
