Philippa James was the photographer recommended to us by the venue. She’d shot weddings there multiple times before and we could see examples of her work on her website. Her style was just what we were after; very natural, not posed and with an artistic flair.”

“Her photos captured the true happiness in everyone at the weddings she had shot and that’s what we can see in our photos too. She’s also a really fun person and great to have around on the day. All our photography-loving guests loved her too.”

“My shoes were by Charlotte Mills and my veil from Elizabeth Dickens. I also wore MEMO Paris as my scent as it was a wedding present bought for me by my husband.”

In keeping with their elegant surroundings, Rebecca chose stunning full-length rose gold dresses from Morilee via Maria Modes Bridal Shop for her bridesmaids.

They also wore their own shoes and a pair of pearl studs from Clarity Contemporary Jewellers in Knutsford.

“The designer of my dress is Sarah Seven and I bought it from Love Bridal Boutique in Altrincham. The shop is just around the corner from my house and I’ve walked past it so many times so just had to go in. I wanted something a little different and Emma’s dresses were exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something simple but that would make people talk. It definitely wouldn’t be what everyone would choose, and it was questioned a little by friends and family, but that just made me love it even more – it was me!”

“It was the only dress I put on and I really felt like me in it. It was simple, elegant and had a low back with detail. It was also really light considering the heat on the day of the wedding. I wanted simple as I didn’t want the dress to wear me, and I could go a little bolder with the veil and accessories then (hence the rose gold shoes!)”

Selina Godsal was our florist and she’s a member of the family who own Iscoyd Park. She puts fresh flowers in all the rooms at the venue every day! She knows the venue inside out and knows what works.”

“She also understood my vision and loved my colour palette. I told her the colours I loved and let her run with it. She knows what looks good and I trusted her judgement – the results were fantastic!”

The groom complimented the colour scheme perfectly in a classic black tuxedo suit, made bespoke by Whitfield & Ward and accessorised with a pair of Kurt Geiger shoes and Henry London watch.

“Richard and I met at flight school in Southampton. I’d already been there for just over a month and my house went over to welcome Richard’s house and we hit off straight away.”

“Richard had always wanted to wear a dinner suit at our wedding, and I quite liked the idea of the girls getting to dress up and wear cocktail dresses and ball gowns, so we went with this as the dress code. I also love vintage colours and themes so we wanted to incorporate that too, hence the flowers being dusky pinks and purples.”

“My dad accompanied me down the aisle to How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding. The Wrexham Registry Office performed the ceremony and we used the vows they provided. The registrar performed a beautiful ceremony and many of our guests commented on how good she was and how much they enjoyed it.”

“You just have to see Iscoyd Park to know we picked it – it’s beautiful. It’s a classic country house in beautiful rural surroundings and is very picturesque. When we turned through the top gate we stopped the car and just looked at it. We knew at that moment this was the venue for us, but also the people who worked there were so friendly and welcoming.”

“We immediately felt at home when we visited and the venue was even happy to let our dog be part of our wedding. We decided to book it before we even made it home.”

“Turning the corner at the top of the aisle and seeing Richard turn his head to see me, close to tears, was one of my favourite moments from the day. He didn’t have to say anything, i knew exactly how he felt. I also loved how much everyone else was enjoying themselves. Everyone was so happy and having so much fun – it made all the hard work worth it!”

“We chose to have three readings; an extract from Captain Corellis Mandolin read by a friend, The Greatest Happiness from Les Miserable read by Richard’s mum, and He’s Not Perfect by Bob Marley read by another friend.”

“Our rings were from David M Robinson in Altrincham and my engagement ring came from the same jewellers. They made my wedding ring to fit around my engagement ring perfectly.”

Following the ceremony, guests were spoiled with a drinks and canapés reception with the string quartet, The Dotted Crotchets, playing in the background before heading indoors to a beautifully decorated wedding breakfast room.

“Other than the flowers and candle displays done by the florist, we didn’t decorate the venue. It was beautiful just the way it was.”

“The venue provided the catering for the canapés and wedding breakfast. We chose to have wood fired pizza for the evening food from Pizza Principles and they were AMAZING!”

“Our wedding cake was created by Tilly Scrumptious. The top tier was chocolate with peanut butter frosting (especially for the groomsmen) and the other three tiers were either chocolate or caramel. We did a tasting session with Linda and we loved the caramel cake (I’m obsessed with anything caramel flavoured so this flavour was a must for us!). We chose chocolate for one of the tiers as we were serving the cake as dessert and most people like chocolate!”

“I met Linda at the National Wedding Show and her cakes were exactly what I was after. They’re very simple with nice, sharp edges and the sugar flowers are just exquisite! I found a design I liked on Pinterest and we worked with that to create our cake.”

“We chose Can’t Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis Presley for our first dance song. It was one of my grandad’s favourite songs and so it felt like he was part of the wedding by having it as our first dance.”

Words Of Wedded Wisdom

“Plan the day to be fun! Don’t get bogged down in the little details. Good people, good food, good wine and and an awesome band will be all you need! Everyone will be happy and have a great time and that’s what you’ll remember.

A huge thanks to the newlyweds for letting us take a peek into their gorgeous day, and to Philippa James for capturing the magic on camera.

Until next time…
