Luxury Countryside Wedding Inspiration

Heyford Grange Wedding 1

The team behind this editorial wanted to demonstrate how countryside spaces can also be luxurious when it comes to styling your wedding.

Conceived, planned and designed by Claire from Claire Clarke Weddings, in collaboration with Gemma Lander of The White Emporium who styled these images, this editorial took place at Heyford Grange, a wedding and events venue in the Northamptonshire countryside. We are delighted that two of our directory members, accessories designer Rachel Sokhal Bridal, and bridal boutique Serendipity Brides, were a part of this photoshoot.

Claire wanted to show that luxe really can fit perfectly into the countryside so the clear span marquee from T&L Marquees was placed onto the perfectly laid lawn to bring the outside-in.

The backdrop for this shoot was sourced by Claire Clarke Weddings.

“Nestled into the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside with views over the county, Heyford Grange is based on a historic site dating back over 800 years.”

“The site boasts Roman features including a well and original road however, the inspiration for this beautiful shoot came from the working plum orchard that sits proudly on over an acre of the land.”

“Inspiration was taken from the orchard with the rich plum colours used as the foundation of the shoot.”

“Having always felt a variety of colours adds interest and texture, a spectrum of various plum shades including mauves through to pinks were used alongside the plum base colour to build the inspiration for this shoot.”

“Wanting to use touches of the Roman era, muted gold and brass touches were used to work alongside the rich tones of the colour palette.”

“Our classically beautiful model wore two looks for the day, a classic luxe look and a more subtle Hollywood style showing how one dress from Serendipity Brides and encrusted shoes from Charlotte Mills Shoes could be made versatile between the two looks.”

“With textures being used more in the coming seasons we wanted to show that this could easily be combined with the various hair and make up styles to show brides the variety of options with changing small details.”

“This also went to show with the bridal accessories by Rachel Sokhal Bridal, which were handpicked to the changing styles through the day helping the two looks speak for themselves including the perfect daytime look which saw a nod to the Roman style.”

“Our model needed very little make up so a dewy complexion was created with soft gold shades and pale pinks by local make-up artist Aimee Garner.”

“The beautifully elegant up-do by Stacey Granger finished off the look for the day allowing our model’s hair to be brought off her back and the detail of the dress to shine through.”

“Wanting to give a luxe feel to our groom, our model wore a 2 piece Tuxedo from Montague Jeffery, featuring an almost plum coloured velvet jacket, a crisp white shirt and black sequin bow tie.”

“The pop of colour in the tux jacket mirrored the rich tones chosen for the base of this shoot.”

“What can only be described as the most amazing flowers were supplied by a local florist, Kate Wren Flowers.”

“Kate immediately grasped our vision and colour palette and using a predominantly Lisianthus, Clematis, Roses and Astible along with Ruscus and jasmine foliage created beautifully relaxed yet luxurious florals for the day.”

“As you can see, florals played a big part with three feature areas created- the table, a styled bar and a styled seating area, with items both from Wedhead London.”

“Very little foliage was used, meaning the floral heavy-set ups created a luxe look for the day. This luxe look blended with the countryside in their undone, whimsical yet contemporary style.”

“These flowers were then mirrored through to the four-tiered ruffle wedding cake which looked like a piece of art.”

“With the venue’s beauty speaking for itself, a minimalist look on the tableware was chosen including white ceramic plates, contemporary white and muted gold cutlery from Wren Ark and crystal cut glassware from The Occasion Bar Co.”

“As another nod to the plum orchard, the curved lines of the plums were mirrored in the menus that sat on the napkins and chosen chair style.

“Bespoke napkins were sourced and once placed on the crisp white plate and used alongside the French grey tablecloth, not only did the colour palette come together but it added another dimension to the tablescape.”

“Wanting to again work with the curved plum lines, stationery designer Olive & Millicent custom designed a luxe stationery suite in the perfect range of tones for our palette. The leaves of the orchard were even used on the design too.”

“Finally, with plums being such a centrepiece of the shoot, bespoke cocktails were created by The Occasion Bar Co which made for some seriously cute photos by the styled bar!”

“The luxe feel of this shoot with soft details will make any reader swoon and fall in love with our concept.”
