How do we book you?
Get in touch via this listing or my website enquiry form and share lots of details so that I can get an idea of what you're looking for in your wedding cake. If I think we'll be a good fit, I'll give you an idea of price based on the information that you give me. I would recommend ordering one of my cake tasting boxes so that you can sample my cake. And then once you've tried my cakes - you can secure my services by paying a 50% deposit and when the payment is received, you will be all booked in. The cake design can be developed further after this point and the final balance is due 3 months prior to your wedding date.
What kind of ingredients do you use in your baking?
My cakes are all about the flavour and I achieve this by using the highest quality ingredients, sourcing organic, British and ethically produced where possible. The flavour really matters to me because as beautiful as a cake looks, it's got to taste even better. I’m passionate about creating delicious, indulgent cakes because I want your wedding cake to be one that you always remember, not just for its beauty but also for how it tastes. A cake that you and your guests enjoy eating each and ever morsel.
Do you only make buttercream cakes?
I don't enjoy eating fondant and I believe in making cakes that I love to eat and that I feel passionate about making so I only make buttercream cakes. I adore the flavour of buttercream and my kind of buttercream is made with creamy organic butter and whipped with just the right amount of sugar to a lovely, fluffy consistency. Not too sweet and most definitely melts in the mouth. The buttercream fills and covers a sponge cake (flavour(s) of your choosing) that's moist in every mouthful.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
I'm really passionate about making cake that's accessible to everyone and that includes people who have special dietary requirements. I have a child who is allergic to nuts, and my day-to-day food preparation for my family caters for their needs, so my kitchen and baking processes are all set up for baking cakes for people with allergies such as nut, gluten, dairy, etc. I have honed delicious free-from recipes for gluten-free cakes, for vegan, for dairy-free. So if you or some of your guests have particular needs that require catering for, I would be happy to talk this through with you more.
Do you deliver your cakes to the wedding venue?
I see it as an essential part of my service to deliver your wedding cake to your venue and set it up to look as beautiful as it can be. I transport the tiers separately to the venue to assemble everything on site. Often, I finish the cake design with fresh flowers and I make these final artistic flourishes with thought and consideration on the day of the wedding. As part of your quote, I will include a charge for delivery and set up. I have a reliable specialist cake delivery service to cater for small / micro weddings.
Do you run an ethical and sustainable business?
I'm very conscious of the impact my business has on the environment so I endeavour to minimise waste and bake only what is needed. I recycle packaging and re-use packaging where possible, but always maintaining food and safety hygiene of course. I purchase items in bulk to minimise deliveries and opt for recyclable packaging. I minimise the use of plastic in my cake sample boxes and mail order biscuits. And by using organic ingredients, I support organic farming which is considered to be more sustainable and has less damage on the environment. I also source ingredients from ethical providers.
