For the duration of your wedding, Askham Hall offers historic beauty, manicured gardens, delicious seasonal food, and versatile spaces, allowing you the freedom to craft a wedding like no other. Celebrate amidst sweeping lawns, on the terrace as the sun sets, and dine under the candlelit beams of Bank Barn’s soaring ceiling.

Designed as a retreat for you, your friends, and your family, their bespoke weddings offer two or three nights of accommodation in 19 luxurious bedrooms. Additionally, The Queen’s Head, a delightful inn in Askham village, provides an extra six bedrooms and the George and Dragon Inn, just a 5-minute drive, features 11 recently renovated luxurious bedrooms, all of which are dog-friendly.

At Askham Hall, you can expect a variety of options for your wedding ceremony, each benefitting from its own natural beauty and charm, allowing you to opt for a civil ceremony or a celebrant-led humanistic wedding on-site. Exchange vows in the enchanting Garden Pavilion, a picturesque backdrop for your promises and photographs. It is a beautiful and romantic outdoor option, with Bank Barn and the Medieval Hall available as an indoor but equally impressive alternative. Instead, take a short stroll through the gardens to St. Peter’s Church, a 19th-century gem with a secret gated entrance, or venture up the hill to the majestic 13th-century St. Michael’s Church in Lowther, offering stunning views of Lowther Castle and the surrounding countryside.

Within the grand and romantically rustic Bank Barn, you have the freedom to style your wedding breakfast. Adorned with round or long banqueting tables for up to 150 guests, each setting exudes elegance and is enhanced by ambient lighting, creating the perfect romantic atmosphere for the most special of occasions. This reception space, whilst beautiful in its natural aesthetic, is a versatile blank canvas ready to be styled and transformed to suit even the most extravagant visions.

Food and wine are more than just a part of your wedding at Askham Hall; they provide a culinary journey designed to light up the table and get your guests talking. As a family and team of food lovers (with a Michelin-starred restaurant located within the hall), they are dedicated to designing farm-to-table menus which showcase seasonal, local and homegrown ingredients.
