Hello hello and welcome to February! Today, we’re in a wonderful mood here at Love My Dress as we’re thrilled to be celebrating the second anniversary of The Wedding Garter Co.. We were so happy to support their launch two years ago and it’s a real treat to be a big part of today’s festivities, especially as there’s a marvellous treat on offer for Love My Dress readers. So, read on and join the party…
That journey has taken The Wedding Garter Co. to their delightful new boutique in Bradford On Avon, Wiltshire and all of their wedding garters are handmade in the open workshop in this spacious showroom.
“Hand cut and sewn from the softest silks and delicate lace, our wedding garters are adorned with fine crystals, pearls and Swarovski opals,” explains Sarah-Jane. “Each piece is presented in a handmade lace dust bag and luxurious gift box creating beautiful bridal heirlooms to be treasured forever.”wedding garter suitable for each and every bridal look. The team at The Wedding Garter Co. is more than happy to offer you all the advice you need to choose the perfect wedding garter for your big day and you’ll be spoiled for choice when you browse their rather decadent online store.
So, before you head off to dreamily make your way through The Wedding Garter Co.’s selection of charming designs, let’s take a quick whoosh through the world of wedding garters with designer Sarah-Jane:
“The most comfortable place to wear your garter is just above your knee as it won’t rub against your other leg and here, it’s also least likely to be seen through your dress. Wedding garters can absolutely be worn with tight dresses but we do have several designs specifically for the most figure hugging gown!”
“Lots of brides ask us what leg they should wear their garter on but as garters were originally designed to keep stockings up, there’s no ‘correct’ leg to wear it on. You can choose your size on ordering or let us know your measurements – on size cannot fit all perfectly! – whatever size you need, there’s no extra charge and it won’t take any longer to make.”
There are many things to love about The Wedding Garter Co.. Their lace wedding garters are so unashamedly bridal and very elegant. Their lace is made in England by a family firm that dates back to 1858 and their designs include the sweetest little details including ‘something blue’ ribbons, pearls and little heart embellishments not to mention the most heavenly silk and tulle designs.
As Annabel has said in the past, a garter from The Wedding Garter Co. really is “the perfect hidden accessory”.
All of us at Love My Dress are sending the warmest wishes and heartfelt congratulations to Sarah-Jane and everyone at The Wedding Garter Co. on their second anniversary. Thank you for allowing us to share your delicate and traditionally handcrafted wedding garters with our readers and happy birthday to you all!
