Trelowarren, with its historic charm and secluded beauty, provided the perfect setting for Sheree and Josh’s mid September wedding – an elegant black-tie celebration with a relaxed, intimate feel.
The couple exchanged vows in the estate’s atmospheric chapel before moving into the candlelit and fairy-light filled barn for dinner and dancing.
Sheree found her Alexandra Grecco gown at Lovely Bride London – simple, elegant, fuss free – perfect for the black-tie aesthetic they had in mind. Her bridesmaids wore jewel-toned green dresses from Coast.
The couple wanted a wedding that felt polished but not too formal – an authentic celebration of love with personal touches. The wonderful Katie Goff Photography captured the emotion, the atmosphere, and all the in-between moments – the glances, the laughter, the quiet pauses, that make a wedding day so special. Enjoy!

Venue & Location
We chose Trelowarren for it’s exclusivity and it’s historic beauty, with such a vast amount of space to move guests. Out Of the Ordinary Events helped us plan the day and style the venue.
We just loved the idea of everybody in the gothic style of the Trelowarren in Black Tie, so chose to hold a black tie event with soft edges to not make the day feel too formal.

The Dress
Alexandra Grecco
My dress was an Alexandra Grecco design called Forsynthia.
I purchased my dress from Lovely Bride London. It was an incredibly special occasion with just myself and my mum present.

It was the first shop we went to and I knew after trying on 10 or so dresses this one was chic and elegant and I felt a million dollars in it. The tear in my mum’s eye also helped the sell.
I would recommend their shop to any other brides.
I knew for a long time I wanted a very simple elegant dress and once we had chosen the venue I knew the dress would fit the black tie theme well, with a nod to the bridesmaid dress style also.

The pearl veil gave that ‘extra’ detail which really tied the whole look together.
I also wore a pearl veil from Lovely Bride and my shoes were from Lace & Favour.

I wore a Jo Malone scent. This was a gifting experience from a bridesmaid the Christmas prior to the wedding, so we took the opportunity to have a day out to a store in Windsor to choose our scents (with a glass of fizz).

Josh’s suit was tailor made by a friend, Riki Brockman, of Solomon Browne Bespoke.
My bridesmaids wore These were long, chic silk dresses of an emerald green from Coast.

The Ceremony
Our florist was Anna of Anna’s Flower Barn. we asked Anna to create a lot of greenery and soft white flowers, no colour, to add some soft elegance to the decor. Our favourite feature was the flower arch which guests entering into the chapel through – it was simply stunning.
We had two violin players (from Cornish Strings) play in the chapel as guests arrived and I walked down the aisle to John Denver (Annie’s Song) and also play during our drinks reception.
Our ceremony had approximately 92 guests seated in the chapel, all inward facing on long benches. The ceremony felt really personal and intimate due to this seating arrangement and the relaxed nature of the ceremony itself. Our celebrant Nicola really made the ceremony so special with a great balance of intimacy but also light humour.
My uncle walked me down the aisle, as we remembered our late fathers who we honoured with photos and candles at the front of the church. We were accompanied by the sound of Annie’s Song, by John Denver. It was beautiful.

My favourite part of the day was definitely seeing Josh for the first time at the end of the aisle and sharing a beautiful ceremony together, which felt so personal and touching.

We had two close friends deliver some ceremony readings. One was ‘Paths and Journeys’, by Thomas Hardy – and the other was ‘The Art of Marriage’, by Wilferd Petersen. We felt a person connection to the words said and chose some married friends to read them.
Josh designed all our stationery which we had rose gold plated fonts, with an emerald green background which tied into the general theme and bridesmaid dresses. Everyone commented on our ceremony order of services with lots of personalised touches, from ‘youngest guest’, to ‘most drunk on the stag’ honours.
We tailored our own vows to one another, which was one of my favorite parts of the ceremony as we both didn’t know what one another were going to say. My Favourite extract from Josh’s vows to myself were: “we are different people and we don’t always see things through the same lens, but I’ve come to learn that is our biggest strength.” Our celebrana asked us to send her privately; ‘three reasons why you love your partner’, and ‘three reasons you love your partner, despite!’. It was so nice to hear lots of laughter during this part of the ceremony with an emotional balance.
My simple diamond band was from a small local jewelers called Rococo Jewellery. Since my engagement ring was a simple trilogy of diamonds on a platinum band, I wanted something that would sparkle but not outshine by engagement ring.
We had a cornish well wishing as we left the ceremony where guests shouted ‘Keslowena’, which means congratulations in Cornish.

Our photographer was Katie Goff – we just really liked her style which was both moody but seems to really capture a lot of emotion and those candid moments to remember from the day. We would absolutely recommend Katie – she was so much fun to be with and we both (although not used to cameras) felt in ease around her for the day.
How They Met
Josh and I met back at University in 2009 in Lincoln and formed a great friendship and it wasn’t until later in life we met up romantically. The rest is history!
Josh proposed in St Ives in March 2023, with a good 18 months to plan and organise a wedding.

The Reception
We styled the barn for the wedding breakfast with soft sparkles with the pink champagne table runners and mismatching vintage cutlery, with plenty of candle light and fairy lights for ambiance.
We had some beautiful fairy lights go up in the barn from Stargazey Decor Hire. We used Flora Newyard who are restaurant owners onsite to cater for our wedding.

Our cake was by Konradi Cakes – we actually gave our closest friends the responsibility of designing our cake so it was a total surprise on the day what it was! It was a bit of a ‘private joke’ which ended up with Josh naked on the cake. Something memorable!
Evening & Dancing
In the evening we had a live 5 piece band called Central Avenue who specialise in Funk and Soul.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Be prepared and organised before the big day and you can really relax on your actual wedding day.
Don’t be afraid to dish out some tasks to take things off your plate as the bride – people want to help.
I used Pinterest a lot for inspiration and created various mood boards from this for inspiration.
I think I would have ensured the speeches didn’t overrun to maximise the party time! Timings are of so much importance on your wedding day.
We did stick to our budget for the wedding, which was challenging, but we felt we had everything we wanted from the day.
