Hello ladies and gents – you having a good weekend so far? Ladies, for those of you who favour a more relaxed and bohemian bridal style, I am excited to be able to share details with you today about a brand new independent bridal fashion label, Indiebride.
Love My Dress has never, and will never be the kind of wedding blog that imposes trends onto it’s readers. I’m not really interested, to be honest, in whats ‘hot’ right now, or what might be trending next year. I just love sharing what I love, and at the heart of what we promote is individuality and personal style. I prefer to focus on style and aesthetic that will lead to a wedding day you feel belongs to you and not some prescribed traditionalist or fashionable vision of you. Which is why I’m so encouraged to see new brands emerging in the bridal fashion market – brands like Indiebride that completely flip the view of what a bride should look like, what she should wear, on its head.
We make bridal dresses for the cool girls. Free-spirited, alternative, sustainable, vintage-inspired and most of all, affordable. You name it, we have it. (Minna Hepburn, Indiebride
Indiebride is part of a style revolution taking place in bridal fashion right now – one being led by a number of forward thinking designers who are turning their backs on tulle and tradition and crafting their own vision of an elegant, free spirited, modern day bride.
The founder of Indiebride is someone who does this particularly well. Her name is Minna Hepburn – and she is also the lady behind cult bridal fashion brand Minna – known for it’s vintage inspired wedding dresses, and a company that we have loved supporting here on Love My Dress for several years now.
Indiebride is the sister brand to Minna – and I am rather in love with this effortlessly chic and laid back new collection of wedding dresses.
“As a bridal company, we are very different as we sell all our designs online. This is how we are able to keep our prices low and more accessible to brides who are not necessarily based in UK or Finland. For me, it was very important to know that our bridal clients would be able to buy online with confidence but without traditional fittings, whilst still having access to all the information they might need about the product and fit.”
First of all, you’ll notice a distinct lack of tulle and cupcakes here lovely brides to be. All very intentional, of course. This is a brand for the modern-day bride who still wants to look cool and feel great but who doesn’t feel the need to wear a big dress.
“Our range doesn’t ‘scream bridal’. We believe that you can enjoy the most important day of your life looking like you and not be swamped in heavy bridal fabrics and layers of tulle.”
“I started my main bridal line Minna back in 2012 – Love My Dress was, in fact, my choice of wedding blog to launch my new venture into wedding dresses. Prior to this, I had been producing a ready-to-wear fashion label, that I had showcased at the London Fashion Week. I never imagined or envisaged designing anything ‘bridal’, but our customers started buying our dresses for their wedding clients, which finally gave me that ͞light bulb ͞ moment!”
“Our Minna bridal line has grown hugely since 2012 and we are so excited to launch our second brand Indiebride. All Indiebride gowns retail for under £650. We really wanted to focus on shorter dresses, still made from high quality fabrics but with quicker delivery times.
Indiebride has also just launched a small ready to wear capsule collection and limited edition bridal line using beautiful ‘end-of-the-roll’ and elegant discontinued fabrics.”
“We are all about transparency – price and provenance are important to us, so it’s key that our brides know where and how our gowns are made, where we source our fabrics from and how much our dresses cost. As an online business, we also ship worldwide, which is great for reaching new customers all over the globe.
Our main showroom, where both Minna and Indiebride are on display, is in London. We also have a little shop in Dorset that is open by appointment only that we absolutely love to invite local brides to visit. We also do pop up shows in Finland, where I am originally from.”

What I love about Indiebride gowns is their sense of individuality. Designer Minna really has created a collection that is perfect for the girl who wants to have fun but not be defined by her dress when it comes to tying the knot. And I for one am very much looking forward to sharing the real wedding stories of our fire few Indiebrides.
All Indiebride gowns are made with love in London and with a collection of over sixty dresses to choose from, there is something for every shape, size and budget. All dresses come within a budget of £650. Separate tops and skirts are included in the collection too.
To find out more, you can connect with Indiebride on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Indiebride is also listed in our beautiful new wedding directory, Little Book For Brides.
