Boturich Castle was the perfect choice for Rachael and Clyde. Perched high above Loch Lomond, it offered the spectacular setting they were looking for, wonderful food and somewhere their family and friends could easily reach after travelling from across the world to celebrate with them in Scotland.
The couple now live in Canada but gathered everyone together at Boturich Castle for a celebration that blended Scottish and Indian traditions in thoughtful and meaningful ways.
Rachael wanted the styling to complement its surroundings, choosing soft lilac for her bridesmaids and giving the incredibly talented floral artist Barbara of Wild Flower Workshop creative freedom to interpret a handful of inspirational images in her own distinctive way.
The celebrations began with a traditional Indian roce the evening before the wedding, before family tartan and a treasured piece of fabric belonging to Clyde’s mother were brought together during a heartfelt handfasting ceremony the following day, that was officiated by celebrant Alex Moore.

This lovely day was photographed beautifully by Love My Dress recommended supplier/vendor, David of Dearly Photography. David’s effortless, documentary approach allowed the couple to completely relax and focus on enjoying their special time with their family and friends.
Enjoy!

The Venue & Location
Our venue was Boturich Castle in Glasgow, Scotland. We chose this spot because of the breathtaking views, the ease of transit from the major cities for our international guests, the food and the venue itself was so perfect. Everything was perfect.

The night before the wedding, we held a get together at the Auchendennan Cottages, lodges nestled on the banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland.
We celebrated with an Indian roce, a traditional pre-wedding ceremony where family and close friends gather to bless the couple with prayers, music, and symbolic rituals.

The Dress
Paloma Blanca
My dress was by Paloma Blanca – I felt equal parts elegant and sexy! I wanted to feel good on the day, light and able to move around and this dress was perfect!

My earrings were my ‘something borrowed’, they were my mum’s from her wedding and they were so perfect.
My shoes were my ‘something blue’ – they were from Betsey Johnson they have a blue sole.

My perfume was Dream by The Maker – it’s a beautiful grown up gourmand. Very feminine and sweet with warm vanilla bourbon and creamy cinnamon butter.
My bridemaids dress were from Azazie, I gave them the colour and they picked their own style. My girls are all unique and I wanted that to show.

The Ceremon
I had both my mum and dad walk me down the aisle. I’ll forever be grateful for those pictures of us together as a family, it’s always been the three of us so it felt right and very sentimental to have them both “give me away”.
We were accompanied by the sound of ‘Adore You’, by Fred Again – those who knew it knew and those who didn’t still loved it. Sadly they seem to have taken down the version I walked to but this is similar, although a little faster.
We had the incredible Alex Moore officiate our ceremony. He carried the ceremony so well, had everyone laughing, in tears and in good spirits the whole way through. We had people from far and wide and he made the Scottish accent deceivingly easy to understand. I couldn’t have been happier to have had Alex lead us through such a special moment.
We chose to do a tying of the knot ceremony with one side tartan and a beautiful piece of indian fabric belonging to my husband’s mother and he conducted that in such a heartfelt way.

We wrote our own vows together, taking time to reflect on our journey and what truly matters to us. We wanted our words to feel personal, honest, and full of the love and commitment we share. We even both managed to sneak in a golf joke about me promising to support him if he ever shoots under 90.
Our rings were from Damasci – we have close family friends who know the family who own this business and so it’s always nice to support local.

We really wanted a photographer who would capture the day as it truly unfolded, natural moments rather than posed shots.
With so many guests travelling to join us, we did make time for a number of group photos to ensure we had a picture with everyone, and our photographer David Early handled that seamlessly.
For the rest of the day, we barely noticed he was there, it felt as though he was just another guest. The candid photos are beautiful, and he took us aside during golden hour for a few sunset portraits that have become my absolute favourites.

How They Met
Clyde and I met on Tinder — back when it was good. I actually messaged him because of his name. Clyde! I’d never met anyone with that name before, even though it’s everywhere in Glasgow. I used to cross the River Clyde every day on my way to work, so it felt like a little piece of home. We met about a year after I moved to Canada, and at the time his name was such a sweet reminder of where I’d come from. It’s funny now, because he’s become my home.
We got engaged in Spring 2024, right outside the bar in Liberty Village, Toronto where we first met. After that, we had a year and a half to plan; and honestly, it was surprisingly stress-free. I thought organizing a destination wedding would be overwhelming, but everything seemed to fall into place so beautifully.

The Reception
Our wedding cake by Liggy’s Cakes was probably one of the tastiest cakes I’ve had, which I thought was not supposed to be a thing at weddings! I had a really particular style in mind from a local designer in Toronto (CryBaby Cakes) but without being able to fly a cake over I strived to find someone to execute the concept over there. They took a great swing at it.
Our stationery was by BoldEraCreates on Etsy, who was incredibly great to work. Her style is so fun and funky and fit exactly what we were looking for. She did everything from the signage, to the menus, to the name cards.
Looking for suppliers?
You’ll find only the best, most talented suppliers and exclusive hire venues in our directory.
We gave each of the guests a small bag of tablet, that my mum made the week leading up to the wedding. Since they so often get left behind and people were travelling we wanted it to be something that they could use on their trip.
We hired Stuart from Fresh Entertainments – he was a dream and kept the dancefloor busy all night, he helped us host a small ceilidh dance and was all round a great energy to have on the day.
My favourite part of the day? All of it! The start with my girls, the middle with my husband and the end with everyone all together. Couldn’t have asked for better than to be surrounded by people we love, in a place we love and will always call home for all the years we may now spend in Canada and a married couple.

Words of Wedded Wisdom
Make it yours, do what feels right for you. People will have opinions, but at the end of the day, it’s about you and your partner. You’ll be the one remembering it most, so make sure it’s for yourselves.
We probably would have hired a day of coordinator, it would have helped move things along more seamlessly than us just flying by the seat of our pants for it all.
