Nadia and Ryan were married over two joyful days in July, at the height of summer, on Isola del Garda. Their celebration brought together Indian and American traditions with warmth, confidence and a clear sense of who they are as a couple.
Set against the extraordinary backdrop of Lake Garda, this destination wedding was bright, expressive and full of life. From the vibrant welcome celebrations to the refined elegance of the wedding day itself, every detail felt intentional and deeply personal. Couture by Galia Lahav sat beautifully alongside custom Indian attire, reflecting a celebration rooted in culture, joy and shared history rather than conversatin.

This wedding was planned and designed by Solidea Events, who we are so proud to recommended if you are planning your own Italian wedding and whose approach begins with listening. Before any decisions are made around colour, flowers or styling, they take time to understand their couples, their backgrounds and the atmosphere they want their wedding to hold. From there, design becomes personal and intentional, shaped around real people rather than a prescribed aesthetic.
Led by Veronica and Federica, Solidea Events work across Italy on destination weddings that prioritise experience as much as detail. With backgrounds in communication design, architecture and large-scale wedding planning, they bring clarity, structure and sensitivity to each celebration. Their focus is on how a day feels as it unfolds, from pace and flow to the quieter moments in between.

The Dress
Galia Lahav
For my Indian dresses, both were custom made and the craftsmanship was incredible. The artisans were able to take my vision and bring it to life in the most beautiful way.

For my traditional white dress, I wore a custom Galia Lahav couture gown. I combined different elements from gowns I loved, and together we created my absolute dream dress.

What mattered most to me was how the outfits made me feel — and I truly felt both happy and beautiful in them. Each piece reflected a part of me and our cultures, and together they made the day feel complete.

I chose not to wear a veil – I wanted everyone to see my smile as big as it was that day. My shoes were by Rene Caovilla. My perfume was Jasmin, by Le Labo.
My evening dress was made by Panache by Sharmeen.

The Ceremony
Our ceremony was officiated by Ryan’s best friend, Seth. It was incredibly meaningful to have someone who knows us so well lead the ceremony: it made the entire experience so personal and heartfelt.

We wanted to keep things as simple and personal as possible. For our Sangeet, we did have a small stage set up for everyone to give us their blessings before the wedding.
I’m not even sure what the formal name for it would be, but it was kept very minimal and focused on what mattered most: celebrating our love with family and friends.
How They Met
We instantly knew we had a connection when we first met, it felt like we were the same person. We worked together for a time but never dated, then life took us in different directions.
Years later, we came back together, and it all just clicked. On our very first trip to Lake Garda, we visited Isola di Garda and promised each other that one day we’d bring our families back to experience its magic. Our wedding was that moment, a full-circle promise kept.
We got engaged in Cortina during a ski trip, another special place for us, Northern Italy has become the backdrop for some of our biggest celebrations in life.

The Reception
Words By Solidea Events
Designing this wedding was an incredibly inspiring journey, as we developed two distinct concepts: one for the Indian-inspired welcome party (that took place at a gorgeous wine resort the couple rented for their stay and for the part, Conti Thun, and one for the wedding day itself.
In both cases, vibrant colours were the heart of the design, but expressed in two very different ways.

For the Indian party, we intentionally chose not to use florals, since the luxuriant nature of the wine resort was already a fabulous backdrop. Instead, colour became the true protagonist through the textiles that dressed the tables, gazebos, and lounge areas of the vineyard estate.
The rest of the palette came naturally from the guests themselves: they all wore bright, traditional Indian outfits generously provided by the bride’s mother, including ours as wedding planners.

The atmosphere was designed to feel lively, joyful, and immersive, with the focus on music, food, and interactive moments such as the henna station, where skilled henna artists painted intricate designs throughout the evening.
The wedding day, on the other hand, called for a joyful yet refined aesthetic. The magnificent villa on Isola del Garda and its breathtaking lake views became an integral part of the design. The soft, historic tones of the loggia (where the ceremony took place) offered the perfect backdrop for the colourful floral arrangements, which brought brightness and energy without overwhelming the natural beauty of the location.

The result was a celebration where colour, culture, and elegance came together seamlessly, two days with two different moods, yet connected by the same joyful, meaningful energy.
For the dinner reception, hosted in a tensile structure in the island’s park, we aimed to balance elegance with vibrancy. We selected transparent chairs and charger plates to keep the focus on the lively floral palette and the refined toile de Jouy linens in soft green. The transparent floral stands and the hanging chandeliers further enhanced the light, airy feeling, while shimmering fabrics concealed the structure’s metal frame, creating a cohesive and sophisticated visual environment.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Focus on what really matters: being surrounded by the people you love and celebrating your story together. Don’t get lost in the little details, because they won’t be what you remember. The joy, the laughter, and the love are what stay with you forever.
Because it was so meaningful for our families and friends to travel all the way to Italy to celebrate with us, we chose not to do a gift registry. Their presence was truly the greatest gift.
