This romantic editorial was created at the magnificent Capesthorne Hall by Stephanie, founder and designer of Wilderness Bride, offering an early glimpse into the world of the upcoming Persephone collection, a collection centred on transformation and feminine strength. It was a truly collaborative day filled with creativity, and we are deeply grateful to every supplier and team member who helped bring the vision to life.
The collection explores the myth of Persephone as a psychological journey, the transformation of a woman from maiden to sovereign. In mythology, Persephone is taken to the underworld yet emerges with a new sense of power and identity. She lives between two worlds: six months with her mother Demeter in spring and six months as queen of the underworld beside Hades through autumn and winter.
This idea of duality, innocence and power, softness and strength, became the creative foundation for the gowns and the visual narrative of the shoot. The designs reflect a woman stepping into her own authority while still retaining a sense of romance and delicacy.
Styling & Creative Direction
As the Persephone collection is still in development, this editorial allowed us to photograph existing designs while visually exploring the atmosphere of the new collection. The shoot was planned to capture the softness of early spring light, echoing Persephone’s return to the world above.
Model Fern’s striking red hair inspired a palette of soft blush tones and warm neutrals. She was styled with blush court shoes and delicate accessories, including a veil adorned with blush and ivory beaded lace.
Vintage influence remains central to Wilderness Bride designs, particularly drawing inspiration from the silhouettes and elegance of the 1930s and 1940s. This influence can be seen in the refined cuts and timeless shapes featured throughout the editorial.
Floral design was intentionally understated and sophisticated. The arrangements were light and slightly deconstructed to create a sense of movement and softness, avoiding anything overly heavy. The aim was to evoke the feeling of early spring florals, romantic and a little wistful.
The tablescape continued this aesthetic with a classic, clean approach that felt refined without being overly ornate. Stationery by linhay Press was beautifully letter-pressed and minimal, allowing the craftsmanship and timeless design to speak for itself. A breathtaking seven-tier cake created by Lucy added a striking centrepiece to the shoot, with intricate detailing that complemented the elegant atmosphere of the editorial.
The Creative Team
The team was carefully curated from talented creatives within the wedding industry who share a love for thoughtful design and collaboration.
Photographer Georgina Harrison brought the concept to life through her editorial eye and exceptional understanding of light, perfectly translating the brief into a series of atmospheric and fashion-led images. Videography was captured by Harrison, ensuring the day was documented both visually and cinematically.
Capesthorne Hall were incredibly welcoming hosts, providing wonderful support throughout the day. The team ensured everything ran smoothly and made the entire experience a pleasure for everyone involved. We were also fortunate to have beautiful weather and soft natural light, which perfectly complemented the romantic mood of the editorial.
