Lauren and Ben married on 28th June at Boconnoc Estate in Lostwithiel, Cornwall. Cornwall has long been part of their family life and a place they regularly return to, which is why they chose to marry here.
They fell in love with Boconnoc as soon as they saw it and knew they wanted a relaxed and very English wedding. Lauren references ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral‘ when talking about her inspiration and loved the image of a summer church wedding set in the countryside and shared with the people she and Ben love the most – a day centered on togetherness, relaxation and enjoyment.

Lauren wore Jesús Peiró, a dress she found at Alexandra Anne Bridal after visiting several boutiques. She was looking for something minimal and structured, comfortable to wear and classic in feel, with a modern edge.

The Dress
Jesus Peiro
I wore a Jesus Peiro dress and Ben wore a Hugo Boss suit with a vintage Rolex watch.
I bought my dress from Alexandra Anne Bridal in Hathersage in West Yorkshire. Jess and her team were just amazing from start to finish, so friendly and accommodating.

I went down there after seeing they stocked another designer but fell in love with this dress after Jess showed it to me. Her tailor Alexey, who fitted my dress was also so lovely, his eye for detail was beautiful and so fun to work with.

I went to three other bridal boutiques and this was the best one in my opinion – down to earth and fun.
I really wanted to feel comfortable on the day and knew I wanted something minimal and structured yet traditional and classic. It felt like a vintage style but with a modern twist and I loved how light and relaxed I felt in it.

My shoes were by Sezane and my necklace was by Agapeé. I also wore a veil, which which agani, was from Alexandra Anne Bridal. My scent was Red Hibiscus, by Jo Malone.
Makeup was done by Charlotte Albert who was amazing! The morning was so relaxed with her and we all felt so beautiful . And hair was by Ro Hair, who was just as fabulous!

The Ceremony
My dad accompanied me down the aisle and the vicar of Boconnoc Church, Roger May, lead our wedding ceremony.
We had two readings during our ceremony; 1 corinthians, Chapter 13 and Everything I Know About Love, by Dolly Alderton.
My wedding and engagement rings were both bespoke made from Hill & Hill The Jewellers in Altrincham, Manchester. Ben went to Jo there to design my engagement ring as he wanted something that was one of a kind. The wedding ring fitted with it beautifully and Jo and her team were so friendly and helpful.
Ben’s ring is from Angelic Diamonds, as he wanted something simple and classic.

Photography
We would 100% recommend Kat of The Springles. She was the loveliest, friendliest person and so much fun! We didn’t even notice she was taking pictures, she felt like another guest! Everything was easy and flowed so beautifully throughout the day.

Kat is an amazing talent, we were so excited to have her there with us as we knew how beautiful the pictures would be! We just loved The Springles style of photography. Laid back, traditional yet modern, candid and elegant. The perfect combination.
We would recommend them in a heartbeat.

The Reception
Boconnoc has in house events planning team and my Mum Vicky and I styled the wedding. We used Utterly Printable for our invitations and order of service, Papier for our table plan and Etsy for our menu board and welcome sign.
Our caters, Fego Food Co, provided the best food and service! Delicious and beautiful and everyone’s commented on how wonderful it was. Hannah was amazing from start to finish, her attention to detail was second to none and the menus that they offer are just beautiful! Using local, seasonal produce, every mouthful was a delight.
Sarah from The Cornish Cakery, made us a delicious lemon flavored semi naked cake. I just love that style of cake, understated but delicious.
Evening & Dancing
We took our first dance to ‘Everywhere’, by Fleetwood Mac. Probably my all time favourite song and for as long as I can remember, the only detail I was sure of about getting married was having this song as our first dance.
We hired live jazz band, The Swing Empire, who were so much fun and delivered amazing music. We also had Fistral stereo DJ, Robin, who was fantastic and brought the house down. Flicks Box Photobooth were also fantastic, so much fun.
Seeing all of our friends and families faces smiling and laughing all day was the best feeling – to see them all enjoying being there with us to celebrate.
Words of Wedded Wisdom

Let people help you and just enjoy the high on the day! Take a minute at some point through the day together to take it all in.
