Camille and Jeff’s beautiful rainy day wedding took place late September 2025 at Mankin Mansion, a historic estate set in gardens on the edge of Richmond, Virginia. This delightful day was documented by Rise + Roam photography and shot the couple’s Super 8 film, with Stephen James Film on videography.
Camille wore an A-line embellished gown by Sen Studio and changed into a chic mini for the evening. Jeff wore a custom burgundy tuxedo, chosen to sit inside an autumn palette of green, maroon and blush. Fleure Studio made a gorgeous bouquet of orchids designed on a ring so that it could be carried like a handbag, and the groomsmen wore floral brooches in place of buttonholes.
It rained – a lot! Rain fell from the morning until the middle of the afternoon but it didn’t matter at all and the experience only added to the precious memories of this beautifully laid back day. Enjoy!

The Dress
Sen Studio
wore an A-line embellished gown from Sen Studio, purchased at Kleinfeld. I went shopping with my mother, sister-in-law, and a few bridesmaids, living out the Say Yes to the Dress moment I had dreamed about since watching the show as a teenager.
Before that trip, I had visited at least five bridal boutiques and tried on nearly every style imaginable, from drop waist to jacquard to sheer gowns lined with pearls. I thought she had found “the one,” but when I showed it to my sister-in-law, she gently pointed out that while the dress was beautiful, it didn’t feel like me.
Wanting me to have my true “this is it” moment, my sister-in-law booked an appointment at Kleinfeld as a surprise gift and turned it into a special trip. At the appointment, my sister-in-law was the one who pulled the Sen Studio gown off the rack.
The moment I stepped into it, everything clicked. Everyone in the room instantly knew it was the dress. It was extra special because it felt full-circle, the same sister-in-law who used to help me choose prom dresses was now choosing my wedding gown.
Partway through the reception, I, ever the fashion-forward bride, decided it was time for a dress change. As stunning as my gown was, my heart called for something a little more playful, a chic mini that let me dance freely. While I slipped into my new look, Jeff sneaked away for a few moments with his friends, enjoying a quiet laugh before returning to the celebration.
I completed the look with the matching veil and gloves, and I added a deeply personal touch hidden beneath the gown’s lining: a custom patch embroidered with “Jeff and Camille – from this day forward – Mr. and Mrs. Prindle – 9•27•2025.” It became one of my favourite sentimental details of the entire day.
My make-up was by Evine Beauté and my hair was styled by Avenue 42.
Jeff wore a custom burgundy tuxedo from Indochino. He knew he didn’t want a traditional black tux and wanted something that felt distinctive while still aligning with the wedding’s moody fall palette. He debated between green and burgundy, but the green leaned too spring, making burgundy the perfect choice.
His tux was fully custom, complete with a personalized interior lining and stitching inside the jacket listing the venue name and wedding date. He paired it with a textured black bow tie, monogrammed cufflinks, and his favourite long socks, the whiskey-and-cigar-patterned pair I had gifted him years before.
Inspiration & Planning
We were married at Mankin Mansion in Richmond, Virginia. Planning our wedding meant navigating a maze of trends, expectations, and the pressure, especially on social media, to create something “unique” without feeling like we were trying too hard. I’ve always loved following trends while adding my own twist, so finding that sweet spot between familiar and fresh became our guiding challenge.
When we chose a fall wedding, we immediately knew we didn’t want to lean into the typical seasonal colours like navy, pumpkin, or burnt orange. At the time, the wedding world was obsessed with minimalist black-and-white palettes, and although we briefly entertained a softer look – airy linens paired with sage, peach, and white – it never felt quite right. The palette read too spring, too safe, too expected. Even when we experimented with metallics and velvet, the mood shifted too winter.
The turning point came during a late-night scroll through Pinterest, when I came across deep maroon tones that suddenly made everything click. It felt like an ode to fall without falling into cliché.
From there, the palette began to blossom into a moody, romantic mix of swampy green, maroon, and blush. With Gillian’s help, the mood board evolved beautifully: tapered candles in varied hues, gold flatware, gold candle holders, and florals that made the colours feel rich and intentional.
Once the vibes came together, the palette spoke for itself.
The overall style followed the same evolution. We knew we wanted a look that felt modern and romantic, elevated but still warm. A black-tie-preferred dress code set the tone, encouraging guests to lean into the elegance of the venue. And Mankin Mansion, our diamond in the rough, was a huge part of the vision. Hidden away in an unexpected area, it opens into the most enchanting and intimate setting. Its charm called for a design that honoured both its history and its magic.
In the end, our wedding became a blend of contemporary elegance and vintage romance, anchored by a moody fall palette that felt personal and expressive. Every choice, from the colours to the candles to the attire, wove together into a celebration that felt deeply “us,” shaped not by trends but by the feeling we wanted to create the moment you stepped into the mansion’s garden paths.

The Ceremony
One of my closest friends at Elope RVA officiated our ceremony, and we chose to have it performed bilingually so that my family could fully understand and feel connected to every moment.
Cultural, Religious & Heritage Traditions
Incorporating my Hispanic heritage was incredibly important to us, and we wanted my culture to be genuinely represented throughout the day.
In one of the most meaningful choices we made, we decided to say “I do” in both English and Spanish. It was a small gesture, but one that felt deeply respectful and symbolic of blending our lives and families. It added a beautiful emotional layer to the ceremony and made the day feel even more inclusive and personal.
Our ceremony was intimate, warm, and deeply personal. Saying “I do” in both English and Spanish felt like the truest nod to my culture and to the joining of our families.
And right after the ceremony – before anything else, before the photos, before the whirlwind – we slipped away for ten quiet minutes together. No photographers. No planners. Just us in a small room, breathing, holding hands, letting the reality hit us: we were married. It was one of the most grounding moments of the entire day.

One of the most special touches of the evening was a video our videographer, Stephen James Film, created. A few months before the wedding, they took us on a date night where we talked about each other, our favourite things, and our love of visiting wineries.
Seeing that little glimpse of our everyday love on the big screen, shared with everyone we care about, was unexpectedly tender and emotional, a moment that reminded everyone why we were celebrating: our life together.
How They Met
Jeff and I met nine years ago on a dating app called Bumble. From the moment I saw Jeff, I thought he looked much better than his profile picture! He was super introverted, which isn’t usually my type since I’m more outgoing. This worked out well for Jeff though as Bumble requires the female to send the first message. Our first time meeting in person, Jeff met me at my bartending Job at Bertucci’s. I was still working and in my bartending outfit but looked more beautiful than Jeff had expected.
After getting off work, we went to the local Bar Louie in Gainesville, where they asked the usual first-date questions. Thinking Jeff was disinterested, not knowing that he was just introverted, I figured she would ask a very controversial question; keep in mind it was January 2017, and asked who he voted for in the 2016 election. I thought if I was going to sit through a date where this guy isn’t interested in me, I might as well have fun and ask a controversial question. He was initially taken aback by the question on a first date, but it initiated a fun conversation where they got to know each other better. Because of Jeff’s introverted nature, the night wrapped up with him giving me “an awkward side hug” to which I was left thinking, “Well, that’s that”.
So, you can imagine my surprise when, a couple of hours later, I received a text saying he “had a great time.” I was genuinely shocked, but pleased… and honestly, I needed some IKEA furniture built.
Jeff came over to put together my desk, and according to my family, he just never left. We ended up hanging out every day for weeks, and somewhere along the way, it went from casual to something much more. He’d stay for dinner, we’d binge-watch shows, and before we knew it, they were making plans for the future. Soon, we moved in together, and Jeff built more IKEA furniture than I can count (I swear, he could do it in his sleep!). We adopted a fur baby and travelled to places like London, Italy, and Hawaii – each trip adding to our growing list of cherished memories.
After years of me asking, “When are we getting married?” Jeff finally went down on one knee in their apartment. We were playing a card game that asks intimate questions for couples, and it sparked a conversation about the past 7 years of dating, about all the fun memories we’ve made, moving in together, taking trips, and growing through tough times but always staying by each other’s side. In that private, quiet moment, Jeff asked me to marry him, and my heart couldn’t have been fuller. We’ve shared so many incredible moments, but this one, their wedding, is the most exciting chapter yet.
The Reception
Our rentals came from Party Perfect. We put together DIY bathroom baskets for guests, and one of the highlights was our personalized bride-and-groom prosecco pong table. Because game nights are a huge part of our relationship, having prosecco pong and yard games felt like a must. As avid golfers, we even added a mini-golf setup. Throughout the venue, we placed photos from our relationship, giving guests sweet little glimpses into our story as they walked around.
The personalised touches carried into the reception, too: a custom cake topper shaped like our dog, sugar toppers for our espresso martinis, and signature cocktails – his, hers, and ours. For dessert, we served churros as a nod to an inside joke. And to top off the night in the most “us” way possible, our getaway car was stocked with McDonald’s on the ride back to the hotel.
Guests were welcomed with a linen welcome sign and printed photo banners we designed ourselves. Before the ceremony, we offered champagne, and once the reception kicked off, our signature drinks were served in DIY personalized cups featuring our custom emblem, the same one used on our photo booth prints for a cohesive touch. We also added custom linen bar signs to match our moody fall palette, and one of our favourite little details was the custom cocktail napkins with our dog on them. They were such a small thing but totally stole the show.
Our catering was by Champagne Taste Catering. Our cake and desserts were by Sweet Fix and our churros were by Doce Churros.
My bouquet was anything but traditional – it was designed on a ring so I could carry it like a chic purse, a true reflection of my style-forward, modern aesthetic. Filled with orchids and a mix of moody, romantic colours, it perfectly complemented the wedding’s palette of swampy greens, maroons, and blush, becoming not just a floral arrangement but a statement piece that tied together my gown, the moody vibe of the day, and the overall romantic atmosphere.
Some of the most meaningful elements involved our wedding party and family. The groomsmen wore floral brooches instead of traditional boutonnières, and the bridesmaids created their own bouquets, each wrapped with a personalized charm pulled from a Southern cake pull.

We’ve never been fans of the traditional grand entrance – it just never felt like “us.” From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to celebrate in a way that felt authentic, personal, and joyful rather than performative. So instead of a dramatic reveal, we made our entrance during cocktail hour, greeting our guests with love and gratitude, soaking in the moment, and letting the day unfold naturally.
A few minutes before dinner, we were handed champagne bottles and poured them into a champagne tower on the patio, bathed in the warm glow of the string lights. Surrounded by friends and family, we clinked glasses, shared a toast, and savored the joy of the moment. From there, we all walked together into the tent for dinner. It was magical, unhurried, and gave us a chance to truly appreciate every detail – the flowers, the candles, and the incredible work of our vendors and the Mankin Mansion team who made our dream wedding a reality.
Even though we had always insisted we hated the idea of a grand entrance, the moment called for a little spectacle. When the doors reopened to “Rompe” by Daddy Yankee, the energy instantly skyrocketed – the party reignited, everyone was on their feet, and it became one of those spontaneous, unforgettable moments that perfectly captured the joy, chaos, and fun of our wedding day.
Our DJ was Rhythm of Love and our live musicians were Southern Strings Music. Our DJ was also bilingual, which made it easier for family members to follow along during the reception and even helped with delivering speeches in Spanish.
Our first dance felt straight out of Bridgerton: a string arrangement layered with a live violinist serenading from behind us. It wasn’t perfect – we couldn’t hear the opening cue and completely missed our start – but once we found the rhythm, the nerves dissolved and the moment felt even more intimate because of its imperfections.
Dinner flowed into one of the most emotional highlights of the night: My surprise mother-daughter dance. No one, not even Jeff, knew it was coming. I worked with the DJ to introduce the moment with a bilingual speech about how ABBA and Mamma Mia! shaped my relationship with her mom. And when “Slipping Through My Fingers” began, the entire room dissolved. Truly not a dry eye anywhere.
Because the moment was so quick, and so special, we invited all the married couples onto the dance floor afterward for a shared slow dance, a chance for everyone to pause and reminisce on their own love stories. To officially open the dance floor, I chose “Dancing Queen,” another ABBA moment I got to share with her mom. The energy was joyful, electric. Later in the night, Jeff even ended up salsa dancing with my mom, one of those spontaneous moments that made the night feel alive and deeply blended.
As the evening moved towards its final hours, two songs turned into instant core memories.
First: “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” by Bad Bunny, a song about cherishing moments as they happen. It ended in a massive dance-floor group photo with every single guest surrounding us.
Then: “The Night Is Still Young” by Nicki Minaj, our unofficial symbol that although the wedding was ending, our life together was just beginning.
When the time came for our exit, our DJ surprised us with one last private dance: “All of Me” by John Legend. Since our first dance wasn’t perfect, we attempted the choreography again… but midway through, it dissolved into tears, laughter, and holding each other the way you do when you realise you’ve never loved someone so much.
Finally, “Today Was a Fairytale” by Taylor Swift began to play. Our guests lined the pathway, sparklers in hand, while cold sparklers lit the driveway like something out of a movie. We walked through that glowing tunnel towards our getaway car, hearts full, faces damp, hands clasped tight. Waiting inside the car? McDonald’s, an iconic ending, and the driver happened to be one of the owners of Mankin Mansion, the same person who gave us our very first tour. A full-circle moment if there ever was one.
Favourite Moments
We always imagined our wedding day unfolding like a perfectly choreographed fairytale, but as anyone who’s ever had a wedding knows, the universe loves adding its own plot twists. It poured from morning to afternoon, despite our best (and slightly unhinged) efforts to manifest sunshine: burying a bottle of whiskey a month earlier, hiring Etsy witches, obsessively checking the radar as if that could change anything.
And yet, the imperfect pieces ended up stitching together some of the most meaningful, emotional memories we’ll ever carry.
The day started with one of the sweetest, strangest, most grounding moments. Jeff drove me to a nail salon so I could get a set I hated completely removed. In that unexpected pocket of calm, before the chaos really began, I finally sat still long enough to write out all the promises I wanted to make to him, words that later became part of our first look.
Our first look was a world of its own. We exchanged the deeply personal letters we wrote that morning, and for a moment it felt like time stopped. Just us. Tears, shaking hands, and the quietest, purest love. And right as we finished reading, the rain softened and the sun peeked through the clouds. We didn’t get the outdoor ceremony we dreamed about, but that little bit of light felt like a blessing. A promise. A calm.
Afterward, we were greeted by our dog Mia, who, in typical Mia fashion, brought instant joy and chaos and comfort all in one. Taking photos with her was the perfect emotional reset before heading into the ceremony.
Then came photos, which included digging up the whiskey we had buried a month earlier, a hilarious, muddy, full-circle moment considering the rain we tried so hard to avoid. By some miracle, the weather cleared enough for our outdoor cocktail hour, with our string quartet playing softly in the background. They played for our processional, cocktail hour, and even our first dance later that evening, one of our favourite decisions of the whole wedding.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
The rain, the surprises, the emotions, the imperfections – they created a day that wasn’t the fairytale we planned, but the fairytale that was perfect for us. A day we’ll replay in our minds for the rest of our lives.
Don’t wait until the last minute to book your vendors. If you know who you want – if you’ve been stalking their Instagram, saving their TikToks, or already dreaming about working with them – just book them. Good vendors go fast, and securing them early is one of the best stress-reducers in the entire process.
Get a wedding planner or at least a day-of coordinator. TRUST THEM. They have done this plenty of times and know what they are talking about.
If you’re taking on any DIY projects, start as far in advance as humanly possible. Everything takes longer than you think it will, and the week of your wedding is not the time to be hot-gluing labels or assembling décor. Pinterest and TikTok can be great for inspiration, but don’t let social media dictate your whole wedding. The day should feel like the two of you, not a trending aesthetic.
Try not to rush through the planning, and give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy the tiny moments along the way. You will absolutely get overwhelmed at some point, everyone does, but that’s when you lean on your support system. Wedding planning is supposed to be fun, and you’ll miss pieces of it once it’s over: curating your playlist, picking your ceremony songs, trying on outfits, imagining the day together.
Remember the heart of it all: why you’re getting married and why you chose each other. The wedding is one day. Your partner and your marriage are forever. Keeping that perspective makes every decision a little lighter, and every moment of the journey that much sweeter.
