Jordie and Andrew were married on in June at Villa Barberino in Meleto, Tuscany. Their venue was a huge leap of faith and chosen without ever having visited it – the ceremony space beneath its green arch won Jordie over through photographs alone.
Andrew is a creative director in Toronto and Jordie works in science communication, and they planned their Tuscan celebration with wedding planner Simona Pierfederici. Their photographer was the wonderful and incredibly talented Stefano Santucci, a photographer we’re imnensely proud to recommend for his analogue film photography.

Jordie wore a two-piece dress by Watters with her mother’s veil and a pair of butter yellow Gucci sandals.
Florals by Marta Sandri Studio were kept all white against the greenery of the villa, with soft touches of butter yellow. Dinner was served in the courtyard at a U-shaped table lined with pillar candles, with music and lighting from FixTheMusic. The Venue & Location
We were married at Villa Barberino in Meleto, Tuscany and we chose it blind (never even having seen the venue!). It’s not a super popular or well-known venue in Tuscany. We just had such a great experience speaking to the owners, and the photos of the grounds looked so beautiful. I fell in love with the ceremony space and the green arch flanked by the two stone cherubs, and I knew immediately I wanted to get married under that arch.
We didn’t need a tent, as the weather was beautiful!
We hired Simona Pierfederici as our wedding planner. She became like our second mum during wedding planning.
We wanted the venue to speak for itself and keep the decor simple. The vibe I gave our florist, Marta Sandri Studio, was ‘classy and chic’. I trusted her vision fully! I just gave her a vibe and budget, and she executed the rest. For the table, we did simple pillar candles all throughout our U-shaped table.
Everything was inspired by the venue. We did all-white florals which really popped against the greenery of our ceremony space and the courtyard where we had our dinner. There were also some subtle pops of butter yellow (my Gucci wedding sandals, the bow on my bouquet, my sister’s corsage).

The Dress
Watters
My wedding dress was by Watters and was actually a two-piece dress, as the skirt and corset are separate pieces. I wanted something simple and chic. I’m not really into traditional wedding gowns or ball gowns so I just wanted something that felt more me. Plus, from a practical perspective we were travelling for 2 weeks after so it had to be packable.

The veil is my mum’s original veil from her wedding in the 80s and my shoes were those butter yellow Gucci sandals.
I wore my hair in a slick bun, and for the dinner reception, I traded my veil for my mum’s headpiece. It was beaded with silver and pearl beads with floral accents. I wore an etched vintage gold bangle that was my Nonna’s.

My scent was Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt, which is just what I normally wear.
Andrew’s suit was custom-made by a local Toronto tailor, and his corsage was an embroidered handkerchief from his grandmother. On the day itself, my hair and make-up were done by Anna Vereta.
We didn’t have a wedding party so no bridesmaids or groomsmen. Our dress code for guests was ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’.

My dad is a talented pianist and accordion player (you may see pictures of him from our welcome dinner entertaining our guests with the accordion) so he used to accompany me on the piano to that song, which is why I chose it to walk down the aisle to.
Our ceremony was officiated by our best friend Michael. He is also a comedian so he had the guests laughing the whole time.
We shared our vows out loud, and our vow cards were hand-painted by Andrew’s mum (she is a watercolour artist).
Our rings were custom-made by a local jeweller in Toronto, including gold from my husband’s grandfather (he was gifted a gold coin that we melted down) and heirloom diamonds from my grandmother.

Our photographer was Stefano Santucci, and his work speaks for itself. We fell in love with his portfolio and his style was exactly what we were looking for (we wanted moments to be captured, not posed pictures).

How They Met
Andrew and I met through a mutual friend, who went to university with Andrew, and grad school with me. Our first blind date was for coffee over 7 years ago. We ended up spending the entire day together, first for coffee, then for tacos, then for a stroll in the park.

Words by The Wedding Planner
Marta Sandri Studio
It was an absolute pleasure to take part in the planning and coordination of Jordana and Andrew’s beautiful wedding. Working with such a wonderful and inspiring couple made the entire process truly special. The day was filled with heartfelt moments and a refined atmosphere that reflected their personalities perfectly.
A perfect blend of timeless elegance and relaxed charm. Soft tones, natural textures, and thoughtful details that created an atmosphere both intimate and sophisticated. Set in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, every element, from the floral design to the table settings, was curated to reflect their vision: understated, joyful, and full of warmth. It is with great professional and personal satisfaction that we have brought this beautiful celebration to life.

Words of Wedded Wisdom
It’s YOUR day, so make sure all the details reflect that.
Our favourite part of the day was during dinner, seeing all of our friends together, mingling and laughing. This is one of the reasons we did our wedding at Villa Barberino, because our friends are the most important part of our wedding and we wanted it to feel like one big holiday with the people we love the most.
We didn’t have a gift registry – we told our friends ‘no gifts’.
Looking back, there’s literally nothing I would have done differently.
